Ok time to finally out myself. 🙋🏻♀️ I’ve been lurking the sub because my 10 year son is a Martin Jones superfan. Since he was 6. He’s a goalie too and we live North Shore Van where Jones is from. There’s a personal connection so my guy has been sent signed Jones stuff, hats, bobble heads, signed game pucks and framed pics.
I’m a mom who never watched hockey much but I’ve been following Jones around the league for my son- Sharks, Flyers, Kraken and now Leafs. Buying him Jones jerseys and swag. And taking a lot of ribbing for liking a “washed up goalie”.
My son is asked all the time as he is a goalie: “who is your favourite goalie? Who is your hero?”. He says, no hesitation. Martin Jones.
I honestly thought the ride was over in the AHL but my son never lost faith. Ride or Die Jones superfan.
Time to get him a Leafs jersey !

He’s picked a great role model. Martin Jones is a great competitor and plays a smart game. He hasn’t lasted in this league for no reason. Tell your son congrats for sticking by his idol.
