Sens Interim Head Coach Jacques Martin Challenges Ottawa Senators Core To Take Accountability

The road trip continues for the Ottawa Senators as they are up against the Seattle Kraken tonight!

Brandon Piller and Ross Levitan have a game day preview for this late night matchup. Jacques Martin is settling into his role as Interim Head Coach and some of his quotes about accountability from the players caught our attention. How can the Sens learn from their mistakes of last game to have a fighting chance up against a Kraken team that has won 5 straight?

  1. Hey drake. If you score try not to give up a penalty seconds later, and then later in the game. His best night lost Ottawa that game!

  2. Do we think that Branny is being showcased in all situations to bring up his trade value before Pinto's extension?

  3. We don’t need to harp on the goaltenders anymore? Wow… they are just as terrible as anyone else on the team. Brutal. Big timely saves creates team momentum.

  4. The 0:20 to 0:25 mark features a claim by Jacques Martin, quoted by Brandon Piller, of the necessity of players on this season's Sens' roster to look in the mirror, I think of the line, from the song "Man in the Mirror" by the late Michael Jackson, of "Take a look at yourself and make a change." Whether against the Kraken later Thursday Eastern Time enough Sens' players actually follow suit remains TBD.

  5. For all star game it will probably be Brady but Id like to see someone else. I'd like to see Drake go as he was supposed to go before getting his high ankle injury. I'm good with Timmy going too. At the end of the day I don't really care about the all star game and skills comp

  6. I think the Stutzle quote was right on, DJ helped those guys get big contracts by cheating defense, get high scoring seasons and help build up their confidence as players. Now that they all have their contracts, its time to shut up, do your job and start winning. DJ's free for all structure was just not cutting it.

  7. Giroux DESERVES to go to the All Star game, but I’m not sure he even wants to go. Not to mention the NHL needs young, fast, and flashy players at that game. Stützle probably best bet. Give Giroux a well deserved vacation

  8. Remember when Stutzle said he took an 8m dollar contract and knew he could of get more… this comment isn't aging well right now

  9. loving these late games, now I dont have to watch them cause we all know the outcome. Pretty obvious they are going for draft pick, but is it really worth it? Because of tanking we will end up picking from a very medicore draft (including 1st overall pick) and the losing will make a few of the players want to leave.

  10. Never forget that Aaron Dell is a bad guy, bad player, what a joke he is. We can at least be happy that he is not a professional hockey player anymore.

  11. In the last few games we saw different lines clicking. But it's only 1 line per game that's clicking. We need to see all lines clicking every game. Let's get 6+ goals a game.

  12. Theres a serious problem between the sticks. Korpi does sometimes make those crazy saves so he should get the start for a solid stretch. Switching them up every game or two isnt working. If he still cant bring some stability, get Sogi up and look to sign a new goalie, but give him a long stretch of games to really settle into it under the new coach.

  13. About time they have been called out. Should have the video coach show them clips from the PWHL if they want to see compete and contact. More physical battles in the Ottawa/Montreal game than any game I have seen from the senators this year.

  14. I’ll be boots on the ground in Seattle tonight boys, then Calgary next week. I’m ready to feel sadness boys 🥲 wish me luck

  15. Guys let’s all remember that Timmy just lost his dog, Mochi, who was only two years old, to an unexpected illness. That’s extremely sad and I recently lost my dog who was only 6 years old – impossible to describe the sadness and impact of a loss like that. Timmy I would expect to have some rough games and I would understand that – things are just going to seem really bleak for him for a bit and that’s understandable. But everyone mourns differently and anger is an element of mourning so he might be able to channel that and let it out on the ice. Best wishes to Timmy and Mochi who is in dog heaven. All dogs go to heaven.

  16. Concerning that the core may not be what we thought it was. I still have hopes for this team but the guy that concerns me the most is Tkachuk. His performance has been poor, especially defensively. He's been crazy lazy lately. We need more from him but I don't know if he has the self awareness to understand this

  17. Kids and I drove down from Kelowna to support the troops (#sensarmy) with BOTG tonight. Praying the hockey gods gift the SENS the DUBYA ! GO SENS GO !

  18. All star game? Are you serious? After Giroux who is worthy? Please don't embarrass your fanbase anymore then you already have .
