OK guys, its time to have a little chat about Montreal Canadiens defensemen Ben Chiarot. Chiarot is rated fairly high on TSN’s trade bait board, and according to hockey insiders, he will be one of the league’s most targeted defensemen at the trade deadline. Chiarot has been having a decent year, despite Montreal’s setbacks, and his style of hockey will definitely fit the bill for some Cup Contending teams who are entering this year’s playoffs with high hopes. Pierre Lebrun mentioned on RDS that the Florida Panthers are one of the teams that will be interested in Chiarot’s services, and may even try and acquire him soon. According to some other chatter around the league, there is alot of speculation that the New York Rangers, the Washington Capitals, the Edmonton Oilers, and the Colorado Avalanche may also pitch some offers to Montreal about Ben Chiarot.

Really thought he’d head west to Oilers but they’re playing like the Leafs in the playoffs right now, so maybe NYR has upper hand.
Like all the trade partners you mention, except Florida as they don’t seem to have much to give back.
Great job Junkie 👏 👍. All I know we should grab a 1st plus an asset or another draft pick. Thats what the league is saying Habs will get easily for him . All sources are actually in agreement on that . So it sounds right ✅. And I would get as many 1st rounders as possible. And if teams don't have a first rounder for this year's draft get the following year's 1st ,which would give us a better shot at Bedard,next year's top draft pick. And I would nt settle for anything else under a first rounder ,and a add on.
Maybe Washington will have the most to gain, and the most to offer. Habs can easily retain salary for this year.
Depending on who else stays or goes, wouldn't mind seeing Ben back next year on a 2 year deal. Hoping Gorton will be VERY active to trade everyone he can for picks/prospects!
Honestly … anywhere offering a first round pick plus … that’s the place … Edmonton would be best , Holloway and a 1st would rule

EVERY trade rumor has the Rangers in it.. there is ZER0 reason to think that they add a d man to a team with heaps of D men…
It would be sad to see him go but the Habs are in “rebuild” (yes I said it) and they should get as much as they can in draft picks and possible prospects. Many other players will be harder to trade for a decent return due to some big contracts and poor performances this season.
