Quinton Byfield is Emerging into a Star (Player Breakdown)
Byfield’s play this season has me eating my words from previous years. Completely turned around his game and is one of the reasons for the LA Kings amazing start.
Love this breakdown of what goes into player development. A lot of talking heads mention that phrase without ever showing what it means. Very cool that you've drilled down into the specifics here.
love videos like this for bigger players it’s hard to write them off just because they have to grow into their frame for a couple years and byfield realizes that he is bigger than everyone
No shade whatsoever but people who thought he was a bust after last year were crazy. First year was bad first half of last year was bad but then as soon as he got out up on that line with Kempe and Kopitar last year his numbers got better slowly but more importantly Kempe had a MASSIVE second half of the season. Byfield size and speed creates space and his ability to forecheck with Kempe made space for Kopitar and helped him save his legs. Byfield was a hugely net positive player for the kings in the last 30 games of last season. Just didn’t get the numbers. This year he has the stats to prove it. Great video man keep it up.
