Inside today’s Locked on Canadiens
After a tough end to last weekend the Montreal Canadiens bounced back with a big 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday night. Samuel Montembeault was as steady as always as the Habs overcame a slow start and scored three unanswered goals including a late game-winner from Joel Armia. Scott and Laura discuss the frustrating start, and what the team did right to snag a big two points after a lopsided loss to the Kings.
While the game itself was important, all eyes were on three members of the Edmonton Oilers front office who were in attendance to watch Wednesday’s game. It’s extremely likely they have their eyes focused solely on Samuel Montembeault, but both Scott and Laura think it would be unwise for the Canadiens to move their current starting goaltender. The duo looks over the other options available, and why the Oilers can’t afford to be picky given their current situation.
Finally, with two games left this week against divisional rivals, can the Montreal Canadiens find a way to squeak out a winning record, or will this week end the same as the last? Scott and Laura look at the upcoming games against Florida and Detroit, and what they expect from the Habs in both contests.

my wife is an oiler fan and my god watching them play is god awful lol not great defence bottom six is weird and goalies cant buy a save
Trading Montembault would be a mistake, I think. If you look into past trades for goalie, you'll realize that the return is pretty low. Comparable would be a 3rd or a 4th. Korpisalo was basically a 3rd round. And Fleury, just after getting the Vezina was traded for basically nothing.
Also, if I'm a goalie, I'd rather have a 2-year contract for half the money than going behind Edmonton group. Going there would spell the end of my career.
If the return for Monty doesn't blow your socks off then it's not worth it. We don't need late first round picks, second round picks or B level prospects.
Montambault no va a ningún lado eso es mumbojumbo… Oilers Will keep working with what They have for now if someone goes Will be Anderson Alan, or May be Primau…Maybe!!
Sign Monty, get rid of back up-stop talking about trade-it is like a feeding frenzy.
Wow
Keeping Monty. Nuff said.
You guys couldnt be more clueless
