What a dumb penalty..

OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the game last night between the Montreal Canadiens and the Florida Panthers. The Panthers won this game by a score of 4-1, and while the Canadiens never really looked like they going to win this one.. Joel Armia’s penalty late in the game was a turning point. Lets talk about it!

  1. BREAKING NEWS: Joel Armia was just seen walking on I-95 north of Palm Beach. 10 more days and he should be back in Laval.

  2. Armia's just fuckin' useless… Bring Arby back home, it's been long enough. We obviously need some toughness and grit, when ur first overall pick gets his head handed to him, and the only response is Cole Caufield… I love Cole for at least doing something, but come on, Caufield isnt going to be much of a deterrent for the future. I didnt even know they played tonight, until about a half hour ago, i love when that happens!

  3. Stupidity is not a strong enough statement to describe this dumb ass move. Marty must get some discipline on this team.( GO HABS GO )

  4. Armia was being hampered Florida player as he tried to get to danger zone.Dumb penalty though. He should have fallen down and maybe drawn a penalty for interference

  5. Arizona still 8 positions ahead of Marty's team but the problem isn't Marty, it's Hughes. Arizona is far behind Montreal when it comes to their rebuild timeline, yet they have 14 players on their roster with more points than Dvorak. The fact that Hughes has yet to remove the obvious malignant red cancer from the team in Dvorak yet tells me, we may have an incompetent GM in charge. Armia is passable, he's only getting 4th line minutes and he is good on the penalty kill. But Dvorak is a complete dud. Armia is also paid under the league average, so you should expect him to be below average. But Dvorak is paid well above average.

  6. Armia thinks he was being physical. He doesn’t get it. And he doesn’t get that he doesn’t get it. A confirmed no-hoper.

  7. Now they put WiFi to the AHL for taking too many penalties and work on his game. The team still takes a lot of penalties and dumb ones in the game.

  8. Yes the Armia's stupid penalty was the story of the game. Being even with Flordia that late in the game, I figured they were doing something right. At that point they had at least even odds to win it or at least get a point. The team showed discipline , but a lack of discipline on one play undid all the work they had done till that point.

  9. I played Shook Ones pt2 from Mobb Deep watching the game last night. That's how I feel about the team. Shook ones. Shelter unfed pets. You cumulate penalties when you are disoriented and scared. Barron needs to be traded, he's worthless and makes so many mistakes and can't stand up. No wonder Colorado trashed him and brought Lekhonen back to life.

  10. I Thought the focus for the Habs this season was player development! Then why in hell are we once again continuing to use Armia. That's two games "in a row" that his play has cost the team. We waived him and he went to Laval. He should have been left there imo and guys like Ylonen and Heineman should get the playing time and experience.

This is where the "old school" thinking comes back into play … the vets deserve it??? If the vets were producing then sure but come on now….

At this point, just continue losing and tank. I'm tired of it all….Happy New Year! 😉

  11. Am I the only one who doubts MSL true coaching abilities and thinks that the impact he had at first was just a honeymoon ?

Players progression and line chemestry are close to non-existent.
    -Our top line produces peanuts.
-Anderson banks his scoring chances at a lower rate then Yan Bulis.
-Slaf plays like a low IQ 4th liner with no grit. Lets be real, all of his goals this year are goals that every single NHLer scores randomly given he gets some ice time and ispushing the puck towards the net when near it you in a scrum.
-We take top to bottom an astronomical number of dumb lazy penalies.
The list goes on an on.
Feels like the Habs had a spark when MSL replaced Ducharme, but that spark doesnt produce that much light anymore.

  12. Maybe…they are playing Mario in hopes of generating some trade value before the deadline. If not, then everything you said is 100% correct.

  13. Xhekaj sent to Laval (in part) for penalties/aggression….yet we have Armia pulling this sh*t (though some of his play on occasion has improved/has some moments), lazy legs Suzuki, giveaway Guhle and more…then there's the officiating. Will say they kept themselves in this game and the Canes game for a couple periods, there's that.

  14. i cant stand armia . he should be in laval or bought out. savard is bjust as bad.. we will never win with this coach & these bad players

  15. I mighta been a bit too vocal to my family about wanting a Blackeye from Xhekaj tshirt for christmas… I got 3 of em!

  16. I feel like habs are very close to being a good team. Theyre always coming up a buck short in alot of games

  17. So, we need to draft a good C in 2024.
Outside of Barilla Celery who's locked at #1 , who would you guys pick between the next C within the top 10?

    – Demidov (ELITE, but on the smaller/average size, listed more as a RW than a C tho a the moment)

    – Konsta Helenius (same size as Demidov, but more of a real C even though he can play RW)

    – Berkly Catton ( SAME SIZE AGAIN, all 5.11 lol, but maybe some will still grow a bit? Anyways, the guy is the most versatile forward being able to play RW/LW/C; but is more of a LW than anything else from what I can see).

Cayden Lindstrom (a MONSTER at 6'4, same versatility as Catton, being more used mostly as a LW and a C, but can also play RW. Both of them are in the WHL at the moment and played the same number of games as of today. Very similar and impressive stats, Catton with 51pts in 32 games and Lindstrom 46pts in 32 games, The former has more assists while the latter has more goals.

Aaaand… That's it right? Celery (#1) Demidov (top 3) Helenius (top 5-10) Catton (top 5-10) and Lindstrom (top 5-10) are the only C within the current top 10 right?
Connelly (6'1) I don't see him picked top 10, maybe not even top 15. From there they kind of all blend in. SO MANY defensive monsters though, and outside Celery locked at #1, teams will be looking mostly for defense prospects, which ironically might give us a chance to sneak in and steal a great forward. IF Popcorn pans out, AND we get the C we need during that draft, it will be considered next level thinking by Hughes.

Just saw that there is a FREAK 6'7 Russian monster D ranked in the top 10 (but not as heavy as 6'4 Lindstrom). I feel like I'm talking about cattle so I'll stop right herel
