  1. I strongly disagree with you about Lyon. There was nothing he could have done on the goals that were scored. Lyon is solid. If you think those other names being thrown about are error free, then you did to give your head a shake. Those goals tonight were caused by the defence. There is NO goalie on earth that can save a game with the defence we have. Gallant as coach would be an upgrade.

  2. The Wings don't have a goalie problem as much as a team defense problem. They are not alert and aggressive in their own zone, poor backchecking and communication. In other words, LaLonde is not the right coach for these players because he has allowed this to happen.

  3. I think folks still lose context in where this team is from where it was. Its not easy especially when you don't hit big in the draft. I see folks making coaching comments regarding the defense but not mentioning we are now one of the top offensive teams and not to mention all the injuries and the fact we still really dont have a #1 Goalie. Kane is making a difference but we still could use sum star power on the back end. Edvinsson will have his day but he is not that guy yet nor is Seider. They are still growing.

  4. First and foremost we need to fix the defensive breakdowns, the turnovers between Maatta and Walman was just awful. Also, please give Seider or Walman a chance on PP1, if I watch another puck go back to ghost on the powerplay and see it get pushed passed him and skated down put in the back of the net I will pull my hair out. Mrazek would not be an upgrade over Lyon or Husso, we need to fix the defense by both the defensemen and forward groups first.

  5. I think people put far too much on Lalonde without actually thinking about exactly how many players have left and joined this roster since June. This video is even, in part, about trading for a goalie, which adds yet another new face to a sea of new faces on this roster.

You wanna kick someone in the pants? How 'bout kicking the defense and goaltending coaches?

    Lalonde is fine for now.

  6. I don’t know if getting another goalie will change much. After a bad game or two you’ll be talking about “who’s next?” Team defense (including the forwards) is as much to blame as anybody. Poor leadership and coaching is concerning. Lalonde is not the answer and Larkin isn’t “C” material. And btw Lyon had a good game vs Preds despite giving up 4. He faced close to 40 shots, guys. If Wings miss playoffs and coaching upgrades available, Steve needs to can Uncle Fester. Get a proven NHL head coach!
