Last season Seattle had a really high shooting percentage and they were unusually healthy and they carried it through the whole season. Might just be one of those seasons where Vancouver can keep it up.
At some point when you have time, it'd be fun to have a video on the best prospect for each team that hasn't yet played in the NHL. It seems pretty topical with the World Juniors occurring at the moment.

I went to the same high school that Brodie Brazil went to. He was only one year ahead of me there. I'm glad that he's found a good career in reporting on our local sports teams, especially the San Jose Sharks.

The Round Robin is only 6 days long for the World Juniors. Days 1, 2, 4 and 5 have 4 games each while days 3 and 6 only have 2. This is to ensure that no team plays 3 nights in a row during round robin play.

Watching the Canucks this year is amazing. No expectations and like you said if they make the playoffs that's a huge win. If they win a round that's incredible. Stanley Cup is unlikely but hey let's enjoy this ride for as long as it lasts.

So my oldest nephew was asking me questions about hockey last night. He's a fast learner, but he asked about why nhl teams always report injuries as u.b.i and l.b.i. He is studying sports medicine so he is curious. I told him: if someone from another team that hates you finds out where you got hurt, what are the chances of him playing dirty and going straight for your injured area that you just recovered from? For the most part, at least. He gave me the " oh.. riiiight " respond. Then I finished by saying if it's u.b.i, their hair hurts, l.b.i their pinky toe hurts, lol.
Maybe the Canucks are just a really good team this year?! Its possible 😅
The Canucks are very selective with their shots. IMO their shooting percentage is high by design. I think they'll still lead the league in shooting percentage at the end of the season
Canucks shooting % is really good for a few reasons. PP is really good, 5 on 5 is good
They are passing well, attacking very well, so when you have a player gets the puck he has prime location and space to shoot
As teams work to attack pp or other play they adjust to next player wide open

A high shooting % can mean any number of other things beyond “lucky.” Being selective about your shooting as opposed to firing at will. Achieving more high danger chances than average teams. Constantly playing with a lead which causes the other team to take chances, which leads to more breakaways and odd man rushes. More PP opportunities because you are forcing the other team to take penalties through O zone time , with a good PP that leads to additional high danger chances.
Two Blues prospects in the world juniors both had hat tricks today. The future looks bright for STL.
I think the Nucks will make the playoffs, but not win the division.

If shooting at a low percentage, then they’re “bound to improve on that.”
