  1. Montreal is in such an odd spot , do they move Monahan , Savard, Allen and any other vet they can get return on to open up spots for the Yong guys , get another high draft pick and hope for better injury luck next year? Or do they hang around a possible playoff spot letting the 3rd youngest team in the nhl get experiencecby playing in games that matter? It's a tricky spot , I think you move Allen and Monahan regardless . It's been a much better then expected year tho in Montreal. Thanks as always Shannon for your great work

  2. Canes fans largely do love Raanta, so I'm glad to hear the chants. Obviously we need him to play better, and he would be the first in line to say the same I suspect, and hopefully tonight was an impetus for that. The team getting back to the dominant puck possession team it can be will help a lot.

  3. AAAaaah Mista Svetchnikov! Good to have him back. Aho has 8 points in 2 games. He's on a mission!

  4. There were some positives and negatives from the Habs tonight.
    -Struble was great tonight.
    -Anderson continues scoring goals.
-Great effort coming back from 2 goals down and not giving up.
-Although Matheson scored a great goal, he made many mistakes in the defensive zone.
-The Suzuki line struggled against a strong Carolina team.
All in all, a good learning experience for the young Habs. GG Carolina

  5. So, Anderson burned two former Rangers, Brady Skjei and Antti Raanta. Antti is hard not to like and, since I saw him with his daughter on his lap, impossible. As for Brady Skjei (Irish sounding, but clearly not; I love the fact that he's not intimidated by the English use of the alphabet), I remember his first NHL game. He'd played really well then, late in the third, made a mistake (I think he pinched and the puck eluded him, for the gwg the other way). After the game, coach Alain Vigneault was asked about it. He said, as closely as I remember it, "That's the first mistake of many that young man is going to make in this league, because he's going to have a long career." That made me a Vigneault fan. I like a players' coach. It's not only a game of inches; it's a game of mistakes.

  6. That was clearly a hit to the head of Slafkovsky not sure what game you were watching. This better be reviewed by the league and it was crazy no penalty was called at all as he nearly knocked him out.

  7. Raanta was sliding all over his crease and losing his net. It's nice for the fans to be so supportive, but I don't see Raanta ultimately being a viable option.

  8. Canes on a stride! Hopefully a confidence boost for Raants. He let in one maybe 2 bad goals imo. We have to get it together soon. The window is closing quickly. Happy with another cardiac canes performance!

  9. Off-topic but thought I’d mention Filip Zadina (4 goals 10 pts minus-25 before tonight) is minus-3 vs. Edmonton.

In what universe do we need MORE teams in the league when absolute busts like Zadina still have NHL jobs? They need to get rid of eight teams, or relegate them to the AHL. 😠

  10. Barron has been absolutely horrendous….The offensive skills he provides(inconsistently) is not worth his awful defensive play and brutal turnovers infront of the net…

  11. Canes fan here. Firstly, love your content. Any THG video is a must watch for me.
Fast and Svech finding the back of the net is all I wanted to see. Svech hasn’t been the caliber he’s capable of since returning from injury but I’m hopeful this is a turning point.

  12. Win like this surely does help Raanta get his mental game back a bit. Hopefully he can get his game back. Also Drury is emerging as great player this season too

  13. i hate it cause raanta is a truly great guy, but he’s clearly done. those first two goals were just awful. he legitimately dove out of the way on the first one when if he just slides over and stays square it’s an easy save. and the matheson goal… how are you an NHL goalie and can’t get post to post in a reasonable manner? matheson had no angle so you can’t really use the “he bit on the move that matheson never made” card. just not good man. glad he made some saves after that but. the canes have got to make a move sooner than later. would like to see vejmelka or gibson come to raleigh. think they’d succeed behind this defense.

  14. heck of a win for the canes! I was there and one thing I have to say, officiating was absolutely atrocious. penalties that were called…great. penalties that weren’t called were so obvious and is just sad
