  1. Paul Singh, in a comment towards the end of the above postgame stream, claimed Dillon Dube had had "no points in his last 15 GAMES." Dube played out his entry-level contract while under contract to the Flames, with said contract having had, at the NHL level, a US$778,333 per-season cap hit after the 1st season of said contract. His current contract is a 3-season US$6.9-million one, with this season the last of that contract. Should he:
    – before the expiry of his existing contract, sign a new one, he'll get to play under contract to an NHL team (TBD whether Flames or to whatever team he may be traded)
    – upon expiry of said contract:
    — receive a qualifying offer, the Flames, or to whatever other NHL team he by then has been traded, will continue to get 1st crack at negotiating a new contract
    — not receive a qualifying offer, he'll become, as Leafs' goalie Ilya Samsonov did 2 offseasons ago when the Caps didn't extend him a QO, an unrestricted free agent

Dube, having only ever played under contract to the Flames since their drafting of him:
    – had, at the NHL level, in regular-season play, going into this season, 120 points (54 goals) over 282 games, having thus averaged, rounded to the nearest ¹⁄₁₀₀ point, 0.43 and 0.19 points and goals
    – has, in such games to this point:
    — in his NHL career, factoring in games that he's played this season, put up, over 316 games, 127 and 57 respective points and goals, equating to per-game respective averages of 0.38 and 0.18
    — this season, put up, over 34 games, 7 and 3 respective points and goals, equating to per-game averages of 0.21 and 0.09
    — this month, put up not even ONE point over TWELVE games, with his last:
    — point having come on 24 November Mountain Time in an away game against the Stars
    — goal having come during a 16 November home game against the Canucks

Many NHL teams have some roster turnover each offseason, with the Flames with multiple expiring contracts, with, among pending restricted FAs with neither arbitration rights nor 10.2(c) status being:
    – Pelletier (currently on season-opening injured reserve)
    – Schwindt
    – Yan Kuznetsov
    – Dustin Wolf

Of 20 other pending FAs, any that are restricted all come with the ability to exercise arbitration rights should the Flames extend QOs. Last offseason, going from Western to Eastern Canada, changes occurred to every roster, with the:
    – Canucks' having not chosen to extend a QO to then-pending RFA Ethan Bear
    – Flames' having acquired Yegor Sharangovich for Tyler Toffoli in a trade with the Devils
    – Oilers' having traded Klim Kostin and Kailer Yamamoto to the Wings for so-called "future considerations"
    – Jets' having not extended a QO to goalie Arvid Holm (currently under a 2-way contract to the Avs via the AHL's Colorado Eagles)
    – Leafs' having changed their roster so much including losses of Ryan O'Reilly, Noel Acciari and Luke Schenn to unrestricted free agency
    – Sens' having acquired Dom Kubalik, Donovan Sebrango and at least one 2024 NHL Draft pick from the Wings in exchange for ex-Blackhawk Alex DeBrincat
    – Habs' having, in an August blockbuster trade with the Pens and Sharks, acquired goalie Casey DeSmith (who the following month they'd flip to the Canucks in exchange for winger Tanner Pearson) and d-man Jeff Petry (who just over a week later they'd flip to the Wings for another d-man, Gustav Lindstrom)

I predict, whether Flames' fans like it or not, quite a few changes to that roster by August 2024 even if the team wins (as unlikely as I see it) a Stanley Cup.
