it is not that Max speed was off. what happens is that Max is trying to fight a technical fight, so he is trying to Poke Volka to find that opening. he wants to stay in the pocket to counter Volka's reaction. but Volka fires a combo as soon as Max throws his poking jab Leaving Max totally confused and by the time he wants to react to Volka's counter he is out of position. And that's where he gets counter even more. At the end of the first round Max finally stops doing this and started to throw combos to get in and he was successful. However, He went back to his usual Poking. The reaction he had from Volka can't be counter, these are powerful and quick combos. Also Volka is not just throwing them, he is actually aiming them. And because of his deceptive reach Max thinks he is out of danger, but he is still in the line of fire. If Max is ever to beat Volka he needs gear up and throw combos. He can't stay in the pocket and try to pick and choose his shots. Volka has the reach advantage and the speed advantage. Leap forward throw a combo and get out.
this has to be the most impressive performance in featherweight history to just make max holloway seem like some mid level ufc journeyman is crazy

This is the 3rd time I've tried to watch this fight. Don't get me wrong, I love a good Ferguson beating with some diaz blood just not Halloway. I Love Volk so I can't hold it against him.

No offense to Max, but why was this fight fought and why was it anticipated? This makes it 3 and 0 for Volk. I would understand it, if it were 1 and 1 going in, but not at 2 and 0. This must have been a last minute fill-in deal or something.

Volk was so disrespected in the buildup to this fight. Max fans were absolutely insufferable. I like Holloway too, but I was so happy Volk dominated this one.
Holloway looked a bit pissed at volk at the end of the 3rd round, it was almost a MacDonald Lawler situation but in volk fashion he gave him a quick nod and moved on and didn't even notice Max was trying to stare him down
