You can see Seider’s usage is absolutely insane this year, and he could definitely benefit from having a 2nd pairing capable of taking some weight off of him. Mo is consistently playing against the opposing top line, as well as taking the majority of the Dzone starts. Compared to someone like Dahlin, who most people view as the superior player. Dahlin takes the majority of Ozone starts against the weaker lines. Figured a lot of people would enjoy seeing this. Mo hasn’t regressed, he’s simply being forced to do literally everything defensively for this team. Definitely has room for improvement, but this has been extremely eye opening to me.
Sounds just like every year since Lidstrom left. We’ve only had maybe 1-2 good defensemen at a time, and they’re asked to do way too much until it craters their performance. This team needs better defense BAD, and it’s coming down the pipes, but the patience is hard.
Ice time doesn’t mean he’s not regressing, he’s got to stop giving the puck away so much, and don’t just stand next to an opponent in front of our net without tying up their stick or moving them out, like all other teams all do to our forwards.
Your data on Dahlin is pretty out of date.
Well offense is definitely an in rhythm facet of the game, so it doesn’t surprise me if he’s constantly having to clean up everyone’s shit he’s not dominating offensively.
Personally, I think this team as far as forwards is pretty solid top to bottom. Could use at least 1 more elite talent, but besides that solid. Could contend with that as constructed. It’s the entire defense outside of Seider that needs upgrading. Ghost has too many giveaways and Walman has regressed. Also, need a better goalie obviously.
I’m not worried about MO at all, guys playing his ass off ever nite.
I am concerned about him not on the 1st PP and getting hosed by ghost again at the end of games when we’re trailing .
I like ghost game too but I prefer MO when the shits on the line.
I think the game has become so skilled that you’re going to have a hard time limiting goal scoring. There’s not one team in the league that says “we have an amazing defense”. Everyone is getting burned and I think fans need to come to the realization that 2-1 games suck. Coaches are supposed to shutter at 7-6 games. I’m here for it even if it tanks our defensive stats.
