Tonight as the Columbus Blue Jackets hosted the Washington Capitals we saw an overtime unlike many others. Goalie Elvis Merzlikins went completely insane after Tom Wilson crashed his net. After the Pyotr Kochetkov vs Brady Tkachuk incident last week and now this one, is something in the water with these goalies this year? Im all for it! After a thrilling game that saw Ovechkin trying to break his goal drought of 15 games, this one went to overtime where again, Elvis went after Wilson with everything he had before the refs had to break it up in what was just a wild sequence. That's what some players do to draw penalties Wilson and Marchand get under players skin to throw them off their game. sometimes it backfires they get the penalties if other players are wise to that and control their temper.

The first mantha goal was a clear pass-shot from ovi he’s been doing it all season and has pretty good assist numbers this year. He’s also the most unlucky player in the league right now and will still score 30 this year easily.
You can tell who actually knows hockey by their opinion on Tom Wilson. If you think he’s just a dirty player and deserves to be kicked out of the league then you get no opinion on hockey at all.

That was the 3rd or 4th time Wilson ran/jabbed Merzlikins, so yeah I get him snapping, but it was bad timing. The worst part is that the coach didn't dress Olivier to counter Wilson in this game. What's amazing to me after all these years is that no one has just taken one for the "team" and head-shotted Wilson. The whole league would be grateful.

Game rules have been set up to beat on the goalies. The league wants scoring and scoring and more scoring. Keepers are hung out to dry.
Good stuff. I find hockey more exciting with big saves and the skaters having a hard time scoring. Makes those goals twice as sweet or twice as disappointing. Which gives the game more passion.
