What does John Tavares need to do to be in the Hall of Fame?
With John Tavares just 2 points shy of 1,000, Gino Reda asks Kevin Weekes to examine his Hall of Fame case, and if Islanders fans would be offside to boo him reaching the accomplishment on Long Island. #7eleventhatshockey
People always forget it’s the HOCKEY hall of fame not the NHL hall of fame. JT is a lock based on junior and international accomplishments, combined with nhl – dude is gonna finish with 1200-1300 points. Playoff success of course you’d love to see, but his resume is more than sufficient, and he has several productive years ahead
I mean if JT gets to 500 goals than there certainly is a very strong possibility he'll make the Hall. I mean he already has an olympic gold medal and averages rouglhy 30 goals a year and has been a point per game player for nearly his entire career. Really the only time he wasn't a point per game was his first 2 seasons. If he can keep producing than chances will surely be higher.

Pts alone don’t get you there. Has never won anywhere he’s gone. No awards. Never thought as one of the best players in his era. No dynamic ability.
Nothing, he doesn't deserve it.
Hahahahaha hasn’t won shit
Who cares. Tavares is irrelevant. Tavares is a traitor that the Islanders were lucky to get rid of.
If Chara and Subban can't, Tavares ain't goin there
Retire. That’s all he needs to do.
Weekes should not speak for Islanders fans.
Lead the leafs to a cup.
Nothing, he's already done enough in the hockey world to be an easy pick.
Individual achievements are great, but what other HOFer has had so little team success?
As a leafs fan… No.
Hell no much more better players waiting to get in
This is the NHL. Only the NBA is the easier Hall of Fame to make out of the big four (NFL and MLB are by far the hardest lol)
