Wednesday Weekly Rankings – Week 9

Welcome to the Christmas Edition of Wednesday Weekly Rankings.

– Oilers still fighting
– Canucks, Jets, Leafs looking good – is Canada back?
– California is sad except for the Kings

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, happy holidays, or just a great week if you’re not in to that kind of stuff.

Also please note the day/time this is posted before you come back in 3 days to this post and ask why a team is where they are despite the result of a game that took place 3 days later.

As a kraken fan, I can confirm….Ass is appropriate

  2. I_really_think_this

I hate seeing the Rangers this high on these lists. I know what our record is. I know that we’ve beaten the Bruins twice. I know Quick has turned into a vezina winning backup.

    But still, it’s Rangers.

  3. Still don’t think we are at the top. Sure we are winning games but getting plenty lucky. Great to see Igor returning to form and hopefully we can add some more offense. We need a pure goal scorers for the playoff run.

“i think theyre good but theyre being weird about it” is great

  5. Armageddon_666

I don’t know how i feel yet seeing the Flyers that high up in a rebuilding phase.

  6. roosterjack77

Phewf Ottawa isnt considered the bottom… what does that say? heeey! Thats a picture of DJ! Im sending Brady after you.

  7. LuciusBaggins

As an oilers fan, ass would be much more appropriate

  8. acefur724

Yeah, Philly should be on Santa’s Naughty List for just existing

  9. deliciously_awkward2

Montreal has one of the youngest teams in the NHL, and they’re too old????

  10. AnxiousBed4095

I think they’re good but they’re being weird about it 😂 I like that category.

  11. ubcthrowaway-01

Philly’s rebuild ended way earlier than I thought

  12. SubParandLovingit

“I think they’re good but they’re being weird about it” is another way of saying “they should be good but they aren’t for some reason” lol

  13. BigGucciNasty

The Stars defense should be on the naughty list

  14. SynthSapphire

Did Smith actually get fired? Lol. OTT almost gets less out-of-market coverage than the shithole Hawks.

  15. NoxinLoL

I would say Calgary is in the “trying to hard” especially after beating Tampa and Florida

  16. Hiddenbehindawall

I think they are good but they are being weird about it – perfect summary of the capitals beating the canes, kings, rangers, and Vegas but loosing to San Jose

  17. Prestigious-Carpet98

Flames are better than ass, we’re on a two game heater!

    /s

  18. Habs are last in the league in regulation wins

  19. JoeyBougie

Minnesota should be in “Cap-hit Hell” category

  20. MaxAnita

Shit I feel like the wings could be lower but I’m just being a sassy fan.

  21. wilfordbrimley778

Columbus can’t be in the same category as buffalo

  22. offcenterscoreboard

the islanders are way too high and i say that as an isles fan lmao

Boston needs to figure out their shit before they are mid tier again.

  25. kidstatik

Jets lost to Habs this week idk 🤷‍♂️ about if they knocking anyone’s doors

  26. Frumbleabumb

I read this every week for the hilarious ranking titles

  27. Sad_Opinion_874

We all know the Stanley Cup finals are going to be Canucks vs Bruins or Rangers. And if history repeats itself it’s going to be a disappointing loss.

  28. StoopyDucky

Nice seeing the Coyotes not at the bottom like I’m used to seeing them

  29. palmerd2

As a Devils fan, good but being weird about it is perfect.

  30. If Chicago wins the 2024 1st overall pick and is able to draft yet another Vancouver born (potential) superstar, I may need to stop watching.

Never before have local players of this calibre gone 1st in consecutive years. We barely missed out on Bedard and have no chance of drafting Cellebrini. San Jose getting 1st overall would be easier to accept. I guess Montreal and Ottawa would be ok too as I have no hatred towards them. Aside from those teams that leaves… oh god no… the Flames and Oilers! That would be worse than Chicago.

  31. “California is sad except for the Kings.” 💀💀💀

  32. Captain_Stainer

uhhhhh would an “Ass” team lead the league in OT losses?!?!… /s

  33. Stonewall30NY

Rangers always have really tough schedules and struggles early because of the msg related stuff causing lots of back to backs, and long breaks which screws us up a lot. Historically we turn it on after New years so this gives me hope that what we’re seeing is what they are and that there’s strong hope for it to continue down the stretch, especially once they get some key injuries back healthy

  34. ajaxks1090

Fuck the jets I can’t stand winnipeg any winnipeg pussies wanna go pound for pound we can ill come from NYC to kick the shit outta your pussy ass team rangers will whoop winnipeg like they already did

  35. dekrepit702

As a Knights fan it’s nice to see LA and Vancouver at the top too. Nice to have some healthy competition in the Pacific.

  36. tittyflavrdsprinkles

I’d drop Bruins down a notch. They’ve been ass lately.

  37. kermitthefrog57

Go ahead and move the wings down bud, no hard feelings

  38. Dontdothatfucker

Wild 8-3 with new coach, beat Boston last night, best save percentage in the league since the change
