Adam Henrique Scored His First Career Hat Trick as Devils Continue to Struggle w/ Back-to-Back Games

The irony is never lost. Former New Jersey Devil Adam Henrique scored his first career hat trick, and the Anaheim Ducks walked away with a 5-1 victory. The Devils played a little too chaotic for their own good and still struggle with back-to-back games. The points are essential with the Metropolitan Division being so tight.

  1. I was so excited for this season, spent the last few months during the offseason hyping them up on my social media accounts, and now I just look like a fool..

  2. This year is done..as constructed this team will not make the playoffs..Time to concentrate on who we can unload at the deadline and how the draft looks..no more false hope..the devils are small , soft & brittle..the league has figured out it you hit them they'll fold..Clean house at years end..coaching staff and GM.

  3. Yet another disgrace on home ice. Then everyone is so puzzled why we can’t fill the arena. They were mighty alright… mighty in yet again another disappointment.

  4. If they make any trades involving picks or prospects the devils will have no future they need to sell and get prospects and picks after all the bad gm moves just have to ride it out and mix Nico in net

  5. Flyers who were supposed to be in the rebuild now a better team than Devils who were supposed to be a contender. This is what a good GM does in one summer against a bad GM who has been with the team for the forth year.

  6. It felt like the Devils deflated completely after the 4 on 4 Terry goal that made it 4-1. The Devils seemed to be in it until then

  7. Disappointing game. They should've won this one. Period. They didn't.

These games happen, unfortunately. Dominated 1p, but not the scoreboard. Ducks baited NJ into a chippy game in 2p, and NJ played right into their hands. Everyone (especially 86) lost their composure and got caught up in extracurriculars. Even with that, it was a tight game going to 3p thanks to the 4th line – but the wheels fell off anyway. Poor execution all around, their team D was bad – blew coverage several times, it just wasn't going to be their night.

They're still in decent shape for the yr bc no one is stepping up in the Metro aside from NYR. They have a 50+ gm runway to figure this out and move up. They've had terrible injury luck, and a period of atrocious D thus far. I think this team is closer to the one that beat PHI and BOS than the one that lost to SJ and ANA. Consistency is what they need to find in themselves and the coaching has to get out of the players.

Speaking of coaching, they have 9 more b2b's this yr. The staff has to figure out how to get these boys better focused for a 60 minute effort in the second game. (1p was good tonight, 2 and 3 were not). LGD
