What are you trying to say with some of these? Stick lifts and defensive plays? I get the Kap stick holding one.

The high stick is dumb but I don’t see anything else that should get called at a professional level. Lifting a stick or tying up a guy’s stick is part of the game.

Yeah after the egregious Letang stick grab, I kept rewatching trying to figure out what the Pens player did wrong on the other plays. Closest I could come up with was maybe a weak interference call in front of the net. If the refs called those, though, there’d be like 20 penalties on each side every game.

I get how the refs saw that in real time and thought it was a high stick. With replay it’s an embellishment on Letang. I’ve said it time and time again that the league needs an off-ice ref that can look at replays, even during the play, to get the call right on plays like this, or plays that the other refs just don’t see. The NFL does it.

Not including the penalty on Dewar that they called where the Pens guy pinches down on his stick under his arm and then basically suplexes Dewey into the net with him but Dewey gets the penalty for holding or interference or soemthing. Oh and they get the GWG on that penalty too.
