Travis Konecny crosscheck, Brendan Smith slash – Tough Call Recommendation
Travis Konecny went too far out of the way for this crosscheck, and Brendan Smith was excessive in his response. Both acts present problems that are easily solved.
I don't know, I'd probably give them equal suspensions. Yes, the slash was targeted and bad, but it 100% never happens if Konecny doesn't go out of his way to instigate. I just can't logically exceed the imstigator's punishment.
The slash wasn't too bad, and it was on his outer bicep area, a place that's well protected. If it was the wrist or hands, ok maybe but it was really that bad.
With that said, the crosscheck was weak as fuck, too. The severity of the penalties should be for acting like petulant toddlers and setting a bad example for a whole generation of young hockey players that watch and learn from this kinda garbage.
