Dylan Larkin lost consciousness after a hit from Mathieu Joseph and David Perron got ejected after a dangerous hit on Artyem Zub in the NHL tilt between the Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators.
Suspensions are given out for intent to injure. Whether its a slash, cross check, hit from behind. They usually want to do some type of damage. Most people debate suspensions based on "dirty hits" if it's in the rulebook or not. This was a shove that turned into a freak accident.
Perron definitely a suspension since he deliberately hit zub in the head with a stick.
Joseph, a fine $$$. Because it was a careless play that resulted in injury.
I don't believe that a player should get suspended if they didn't have the intent to injure in a freak accident like this.
There was a bunch of intent to injure. Joseph and Kelly were both cowards targeting Larkin's head. Agree Perron's reaction was out of control and Zub did nothing wrong.
Ottawa is building up quite a reputation as a goon team. LOVED the game against the team with the better Tkachuck brother. Matthew >>>>>>>> Brady.
I’m gonna be honest I think Perron went for Zub because he didn’t see who actually hit him and went after the guy standing over him. I respect him standing up for Larkin but wished he did it in a different way
A doctor's reaction to it is actually that it was Kelly running into Larkin that made him go unconscious, not Joseph shoving him from behind. Joseph shouldn't be getting anything for this, and Kelly just ran into him.
"…takes a shot at him to the back of the head…" Can you even see, bro? Damn near straight on the side of his helmet way closer to his ear than the back of his head. Perron's only mistake was hitting the wrong guy. A big mistake to be sure and one he's undoubtedly sorry for.
It's called eye for an eye. You want to go around playing like fucking clowns trying to take guys out like Joseph loves to do, and you turn around to see your captain laying motionless on the ice, well then someone on your team is going down too doesn't matter who it is. If the league isn't going to stop guys destroying Larkins head over and over, then the Red Wings will do something about it themselves. Cry about it.
No suspension. Person should be suspended intentionally to injure. Goof and total idiot. It's not equally as bad. It's not even close. That comment is as dumb as Perrons crosscheck to the head.
Okay Larkin was out for the season against Tampa that one year and now another bad injury and no suspension from that Tampa player and now the sens player dosnt get one and Perron gets one

perron should be Gone for the Season !!!
100%.. Larkin was knocked out. The shot by Joseph did nothing it was the guy in front and the accidental punch to the chin.. Perron is a complete goof
