I definitely agree on Jiri being a full-time Sabre. Maybe next year we after we move out Ollie , Tyson , Girgs , Kyle. I can see the roster next year with Jiri , Matthew and Rosen.
Kulich is headed to the World Juniors in a few weeks Wayne. He is taking a leave from Rochester with the Sabres blessings. Maybe he makes another return toward the end of the season.
I think the reason he’s not… they went and resigned Okposo, Girgensens and have yet to move Olofsson…. probably all a knee jerk reaction to Quinn’s injury..
I think he will make the team full time next season
The probably want to develop his whole game offense and defense and he can do that in Rochester then come up next season only 6 assists might be the reason
I think the reason Kulich isn’t on the team right now is someone named Olofsson. If he weren’t in Buffalo, Kulich would be. I’m convinced they are keeping him in Rochester for one more year of development, rather than have him in Buffalo either getting less than 10 minutes or hanging out in the Press Box. He needs as much ice time as possible, so he continues to grow until they have a full time spot for him.
I would rather have Murray in the Lineup than Greenway. Murray has earned a spot on the team. Wasn’t he supposed to make the team 2 years ago but was injured in the preseason ? Greenway is never available ! Next year Kulich will be on the roster.
WJC, for sure. Next year, Buffalo. Benson has a better defensive game. They're trying to work on Kulich's 200-foot game, playing him at centre, asking him to carry the team. Those are all good things, things he can learn in Roch.
Those numbers are outdated (from last season). He put on 16 lbs this summer.
He wasn't given much of a chance but I believe Granato had Rosen, Rousek, Biro that have been a long wait to come. So to get a winning season we cant just bring in too many rookies that will make mistakes trying to get above .500. If we were 5 or 6 games above .500 I am pretty sure he would have been a regular.
Sabres are developing him properly
In my opinion I think they know he’s a can’t miss NHL talent, but they want him to keep playing in the AHL for now to develop more and see what they have in all the other guys, they are evaluating Rosen, Biro, Murray, Benson etc. Kulich is a man, he is strong as an ox and has huge hands, I figure they just want to let him play more center in the AHL and get lots of icetime to really get his game well rounded. They keep Rosen up longer because they are not as sure about him. Like buying a used car, you test drive one and you know it’s the one but you still want to test others first. Also, Kulich didn’t have a great camp like Benson did, that was a big factor.
He isnt on the Sabres now because of Benson and im good with that . I can see Kulich and Benson on the wing of the 3rd line with Middelstadt (if Adams resigns him??) In october.
Let Kulich go to the WJC later this month and then finish the year very strong in Rochester.
Wayne you say bring him now up but remember Quinn is coming back so i doubt there would be room for Kullich. It would be a waste to bring him up as a spare forward .
I'm more interested in how Murray does as a Sabre for now. I have been hoping for this call up for over a year, the big man can hit, goes into the corners and dirty areas and can be a rather large obstacle in front of opposing goalies. Kulich will be a stud later in the year after the World Juniors tournament is over and he gets acclimated again in Rochester. Go Sabres, let's kick some Avalanche snow around tonight!
