One of my favorites, I'm going to miss him in Nashville
When 100% healthy, he could potentially flirt at scoring 50 goals in an 82 regular season games schedule, especially if the chemistry is instant.
Its kind of funny we talk of him needing a resurgence. I played a save of Eastside Hockey Manager (Which is low key a super sick game every hockey fan should get. Its EA Sports GM mode with the level of detail and game simulation you get in Football Manager) and we started with a Fantasy draft. I picked him up because he was cheap and would sit as my top line winger. Obviously a game isnt real life but he was a monster. He was a lock for 40 goals per year and we won 5 straight Stanley cups with him. It's stupid but since then Ive always had this magical view of him ever since but its obviously wrong I guess lol.
Robert Bortuzzo ruined Arvidsson's career from being much better than it is.

great another almost 30 year old for two picks. hasnt stayed healthy, who is a "hard worker" and hasnt scored over 20 goals in 3 years… usually guys dont get better as they get older. Rob Blake is the worst GM in the league.

I believe that he will get to 20 goals next year, and then have a slow gradual decline. Kings will start getting stuck in 12th-16th overall picks for the next few years.
Not a huge fan of this move as 39th pick is fairly high, but at some point Kings have to start trying to improve. I also don't like the move as it stinks of being influenced by Doughty.
Glad to have him join the Kings! But I will miss watching Nashville games and not hearing the PA announcer say his name “Aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrvidson”

Kings fan here, super excited for this trade. Kings are highly underrated last season, many of their games were low scoring losses. That extra goal a game would’ve given them at least 20 more wins! GKG!

He’s proven that he has the talent for the first line. With an elite center in Kopitar, he’ll be close to a PPG in my opinion. However, I don’t think they’ll put him on the first. If he plays the full 82 next season I’d predict 50ish points.

Shrewd gamble by the Kings. In general, this is about as good of a rebuild as they could've hope for so far
It broke my heart as a Predators fan to hear the news, but then when Poile came out and said if he stayed he wouldn’t have been protected anyway, I was absolutely floored.
Biggest problem with Arvidsson is he’s always been paired with Forsberg and Joey, people begged to let Duchene and Forsberg run a line and have Joey and Arvy run a line. Alas it wasn’t meant to be of course.
Arvy has been playing more scared lately and it has shown, he’s had his share of injuries so I don’t blame him. We got a great deal on him anyway with the contract but GMDP said it himself….

I remember picking him up in fantasy because I thought he was hot. That was the year he got 34 goals. That was nice.
Character building block 20 goals and we are happy.
All I can think of is that Arvidsson would be a perfect winger for Byfield
2:26 – Speaking of guys with unsustainable shooting percentages, have you done a career look at Mike Ridley? 6 of 12 seasons with a shooting percentage above 20%, pretty much a lock for 20-30 goals a year (plus whatever was in the water during 88-89!).

Arvidsson would have been better in later years if he was healthy, yes, but also if he had centers that weren't overpaid scrubs.
I think ppl are sleeping on the chance he was acquired to flip immediately this offseason….
Great for the kings and the swedish players in the team. Remember Arvidsson won the SHL with Skellefteå in 2013+14 prior coming to Nashville and then was an unstopable force when Sweden won WC Gold in 2018 and JWC silver in2013. It shows to his ability to fast bring his best game to every new team he plays with. Really looking forward next season to see his impact ⚡️
So sad to see him leave Nashville, I think you are right and he will get closer to his normal.
