People trippin about this trade. Manzanec and the third doesn’t really hurt, but if we don’t make the playoffs next year, we get to keep the pick. How long are we gonna wait for these first rounders to develop and contribute? We already have the young talent to make a playoff push, all we was a scoring winger and we got that. JT is a solid player that will only make us better. We need older guys like him that can make an impact right away.
the price for pk was not that expensive. The guy makes 9 million per year!!!! That puts most teams in a cap bind at some point. This whole discussion is dumb. Can the canucks sit back for 2 more years and hope some first rounders help them out. Maybe but i think they need more depth and more grit. This helps them now JT miller cap hit is not huge and he is a player that can play now not in 3or 4 years. I think the idea we are going to get some stud 1st rounder are just silly. Generational players dont come around often and most first rounders cant even step in for a few years. We arent getting the next connor mcdavid in the draft. You have to be a terrible team to even have a shot at someone like that. Secondly we have missed the playoffs 4 years in a row. Do we want to be like the oilers and miss the playoffs year after year even with high end draft picks. Most of which were either traded or couldnt play with the big club with the exception of Mcdavid We have lots of pieces in place now we need afew solid players to shore things up.
The canucks don't have enough young players to contend for a Stanley cup they should have been patient with their rebuild and kept the picks. Sneak into the playoffs and get eliminated early is not what I want to see. Jt miller is a second line player, the first round pick could have landed a first line player. I hear the 2020 draft is going to be great.
You have to pay for talent. JT MIller is a good solid player. I think they could of gave Tampa a second instead of a first as they needed to get Miller's contract off their books to sign Bryden Point. Benning should played a better game of cat and mouse and made Tampa sweat a bit more. Not all first rounders pan out and take a while to pan out. Canucks don't have time to sit around and wait.
If half the fans are pissed and half are happy then it's a good trade, all the fans happy it's a excellent trade, all the fans pissed it's a horrible trade. I really like this trade 😂😂 😂.
What really puzzles me is why they signed Edler again?? Wtf, and no trade again, damn Benning never learns from past mistakes. Additionally, if we did not sign edler, then we could have the room to take on someone like Marleau for a first round pick. Benning's regime doesn't seem to understand that this kind of strategy puts the team ahead to acquire assets. Again,,, great scout with poor asset management skills

All the GM's of the nhl are laughing at Jim Benning for this one. He gotta go
>miss playoffs; good trade
>make playoffs; bad trade

Desperation from Canuck management.

Feels like another Brandon Sutter bust
Jim Benning = Great scout, horrible GM
