While Igor hasn’t looked his absolute best, I don’t know how anyone can watch the past weeks of games, see the overall team defense in front of him and think that he’s the reason. Even in front of Quick the team have not been defending great and both goaltenders do not look as steady as they should.
Team as a whole is going to have to tune up in front of both goalies if they want to avoid leaving their goaltenders up to dry. Hopefully they come around and get healthy too.
He’s letting in to many soft goals I have noticed this since last year it’s a big reason he can’t get shutouts he seems to always have a lapse in concentration
Ya notice the rangers were playing better without fox and Igor? Igor in particular and I think it's because they rely on him way too much. Also being the top team you're always going to be playing teams bringing their best game. Ottawa came to play the best team in the league but the best team didn't show up
He is still amazing but I think opposing players push into him and try to get him upset to throw him off. The other Rangers need to deal with those players who do that although Shesterkin is not afraid to smack the opposing players back lol
Igor did this last year. Started the season up and down and then locked it tf down from about mid season on.
Hes his own worst enemy but thats what goalie’s r head cases
Pedestrian numbers, no shutouts, getting outplayed by guys like Connor Ingram and Jeremy Swayman.
That said, Shesterkin is one of a small handful of elite goalies, so I expect that he'll return to form at some point.
Jon, that was Kreider’s worst game of the season, I had a feeling he was hurting.

Sadly this is the real Igor. His amazing season was the outlier.
I've been a Rangers fan since 1978. Didn't have the type of gold tending then that we've really had the past three decades but there were a lot of good goalies in there we have a habit of leaving our goalies out to dry because we know what we've got back there so we play a little bit riskier and it's going to catch up with us. They've got to tighten up the D and they've got to tighten up the odd man rushes that will not get you through playoff series like it will in the regular season
He's been leakey. A lot of the goals that were scored leaked through him.
