Lucas Raymond grabbed and lifted Will Cuylle’s stick in Rangers vs. Red wings, you don’t see this everyday
In the match between the New York Rangers and the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday’s NHL round, we got to witness a slightly more special episode.
Rangers’ Will Cuylle’s stick hit Red Wings’ Lucas Raymond in the face and Cuylle was sent to the ice hockey box with 2+2 minutes.
However, the situation was checked on video, which was the right solution, because the slow motions showed what actually happened: Raymond grabbed Cuylle’s bat with his hand and practically hit his own face with it.
After a review, the judges announced that the penalty would be cancelled. It should also be mentioned that Raymond was also not sentenced to, for example, diving or behavior punishment, which would not necessarily have been a blatant injustice. Of course, depending on the point of view, Raymond could also just be trying to move Cuylle’s club.
The match itself ended with Rangers winning 3-2. Detroit led the match 1-2 after two sets, but in the final set, the home team rose alongside and passed with hits from K’Andre Miller and Jimmy Vesey .

What was harder, swallowing that BS call or listening to the home announcers calling the game. On two occasions a Redwing player was boarded from behind and both times the announcers (dang, I wish I knew who they were…or not) said the RW players should have seen the hits coming. They should have been born with eyes on the back of their heads. The Raymond call? Yeah, that's what players do right? Grab another players stick and force it upon your face. Idiotic. He grabbed it to move it, not to shishkabob himself. BS
I have no idea what I just watched.
That is all I have to say
