Nope not worth the risk. We have UPL shining and just signed MS . Torks gets healthy and send Dell wherever and have Torks or MS backup/share the crease with UPL
Khudobin of 2 years ago yes, but he has been having a poor season. He is not worth either $3.33M cap hit or $3.75M wage payment. We need a better goalie if we are going to spend that much.
Does the risk outweigh the reward is he better than an average goalie cuz if not that's too much money to pay for him but I know there's not a lot of options out there right now
Nope. Tokarski and UPL can handle the job. Ideally, it would be good for UPL to wait one more year, but from what I've seen I think he could stay and gain some experience.
yes, I'd go for him. Hellofagoalie until this year. Miles ahead of Subban and likely Tokarski as well. Good pairing with UPL until Portillo and Levi are ready for the NHL (which likely ain't next season).
If it means we waive Dell? We team him up with UPL? His contract is not as bad as Murray's. His resume is not bad either so I would be ok with a claim of him. The one thing that you also need to figure into the equation- cap hit = helps with salary cap floor for next season.
I say no. We picked up Subban to fill the spot of goalie if we take this guy we would prevent a future trade for a better goalie. If it wasn't 3 years I'd say sure
If they hadn’t already made the move for Subban and UPL wasn’t playing as well as he is, I’d say yes in a heartbeat. But I think Tokarski/UPL/Subban suffices for now. I’m not writing Subban off based on one game.
With UPL playing well and Subban back practicing… I just don’t see it. Tight there, we have a couple of keepers; 1.) who need experience, and 2.) who we can grow with.
Not to mention, at this point the best thing for the Sabres would be to by some stroke of luck, reel in Shane Wright…
Pate Kane and Seth Jones for Dahlin? Or just hang tight? It a hard to see Dahlin living up to his contract at this point. What’s his trade value right now? Brady Tkchuck? Imagine if the Sabres could land the Tkchuck to influence this young group?
No way. Let’s just let the goalies we have play and whatever it takes us is fine. I don’t think anyone is expecting Sabres to be good so let’s suffer for just this season as well and then we go for it. Let’s say that if we get Khudobin then we could finish in the 24th to 28th instead of 27th to 32th. What good would that do us? It would just decrease our chances to get another ace in the pipe-line. We need patience and not panic-signings.
I get why this topic is being talked about. But really it's a waste because it's not happening. They absolutely are not going to pay anyone bigger money at this point. That's obvious to me so this topic is mute.
I'm suprised Dallas has let him go after Bishop retired. He's struggled this season but he's been impressive everywhere he played. I think he'd be a really solid addition combined with UPL as a tandem until Anderson comes back. (If ever) Let Dell and Subban go, keep Tokarski as a 3rd, AHL goalie.
Salary cap aside, I say the sabres could definitely benefit from him – he brings a spark to the team, the locker room, the fans love him.. Buffalo has gutted their locker room and they could use energy and leader like Anton.

Nope, 3 years high salary, we are ok with UPL and Tokarski will be back soon. He is also 35.

I'd be OK with it, but it's not a typical GMKA move. We'll see. At least we wouldn't have to give up anything to get him.

Pegulas penny pincher owner spend some money on skilled experienced quality goaltending
I would pass and stick with and developing our own. Not like he would be the player that makes a difference

This Bruins fan was sorry to see him go.
