Interesting situation in the New York Rangers and Detroit Redwings game where Lucas Raymond high sticked himself in the mouth – we’ll talk all that and more on today’s NHL hockey video!
Yup you’re absolutely right here Raymond tried to ram his opponents stick into his face, hoping he would knock out a few of his Chiclets for a penalty. You and the TNT broadcast need to get a grip. Raymond obviously tried blocking the stick from hitting his face but with the way the Ranger was moving it ended up hitting him anyway. Also what an incredible high stick goal to win the game. Rangers could not beat a captain-less red wings team on their own so the officiating and the broadcast needed to suck their meat to make them feel better. Smh be better Eck.
I like to call Fox "The Quarterback" becasue when hes on the ice(and in the game) everything seems to flow from him, whether he's at the top of the slot finding holes to pass through or going deep of the forecheck,(and that's just on offense he's equally effective on D) everything flows Fox. Im so happy he's back LGR!!!!!!!
There was a lot of terrible calls/ missed calls. But the wings were outplayed almost the whole game. But if your not a rangers fan you my as well mute the tv if it’s covered by TNT. They don’t even attempt to hide there bias.
Wings fan, refs got it right to call back the penalty. However, what's bone-headed is thinking Raymond did this to himself. He didn't pull it up into his face on purpose, the stick was coming up anyway so Raymond was trying to push it out to his right (instead of downwards which he should have done). When Cuylle see's Raymond grab his stick he flicks it up harder to get Raymond's hand off of it. It was accidental on both sides though, I don't think Cuylle was trying to high stick Raymond. Just an odd circumstance that we're not likely to see again.
You should do a segment on the uneven officiating in the NHL.
You can use the Jamie Benn cross check to Mark Stone's neck in last years playoffs and compare it to Jacob Trouba's lumberjack impersonation on Trent Frederic's head.
You can show the two clips and then discuss the disciplinary action (or lack thereof) taken against each player.

The NHL needs to crack down on those types of holding the stick penalties this is the second game where the rangers players have had their stick held and it almost cost them a penalty. First the game in Boston where luckily it only cost Truba a fine. And now this game. It has to stop. Add this kind of action under the embellishment penalty akin to diving.
Congrats on the Rangers win, I didn't realize how well they'd been doing. They beat Detroit on SOG (1.5X), hits (2X) and faceoffs (2X). The first couple watches at regular speed, it does look like Raymond's trying to draw the penalty by punishing himself. But watching in super slo-mo, it does look like a weird fluke where Raymond tried to cast the stick aside, Cuylle may have tried to regain control of it, and it just went up into Raymond's face. I bet Kane's glad he sat this one out, lol!

After the kraken player got away with throwing his stick to stop a redwing scoring chance and never got called, all bets are off penalty wise in my eyes.

If he was trying to move the stick to the right, as detroit homers are saying, he'd have moved his hand, uh… to the right. not DIRECTLY up.

It was a bad call. His stick touched Raymond’s hand to start with so it was already where it shouldn’t be. Raymond tried moving it and it hit him.
