  1. On paper, it had to happen and at least there’s no salary retention. This team needs more defensive defenseman and a 4 million cap hit for a 3rd liner who isn’t suited to the 3rd line wasn’t going to work. Garland can be effective if he’s not scoring. Pre-cap, you probably get more back. But the fact that they clear that cap space and get a lottery ticket back isn’t bad. On paper, Hronek and Raty for Horvat is still a great trade for Vancouver and you can’t argue with the results. Hronek has been huge for the team at both ends. This is a different situation than 20 years ago. Cap space is like gold. It’s more valuable than an overpaid middle 6 winger. At the deadline if the team is still in a playoff position, they can do something with that space.

  2. I just wished they bumped up Beauvillier's value a bit more before trading him. Having him on the line with EP40 and Kuzmenko for a bit more like last season.

  3. Yah cuz I much rather have the 1st rounders in our system and not JT Miller and Hronek. Those bums!

  4. This team should never have turned their back on Tanev. They desperately need a 3-4 spot defenceman, not another 5-8 spot defenceman.

  5. Smart of the Canucks to take advantage of the Corey Perry situation.

Too bad they weren’t this smart to take advantage of the Bruce Boudreau screw ups to get Connor Bedard.

  6. Good to know the 1st rounder isn't in play, it would be nothing short of fool-hardy to move it for anything other than top-of-the-lineup talent that is in it for the long run
