The Rangers are the only team to stand up to George Parros and the player safety department. Not a single team backed them up. The reports were other teams were mad at the Rangers for this statement. You reap what you sow 🤷♂️
Agreed. It’s crazy the rangers got so much shit for this too. Didn’t the organization get fined for it? What a joke. Maybe if other teams stood up to the dops during that whole thing, just maybe Trouba would have been suspended hahaha.

This is what happens when GMs think of themselves and not the integrity of the game. The Bolts were the ones who first wanted the LTIR loophole closed, but no one else did. So the Bolts said okay and exploited it to two Stanley Cup wins.

re: Parros, what a joke THAT is – putting a goon like Parros in charge of player safety.
This in and of itself (and he’s been in that position for some time) shows what the League thinks of “player safety”.
BigRanger94
WTF is that even supposed to mean?

Tom Wilson is a bum. Show me any clip of a non-bum holding a players neck to the ice/going after smaller players on a team. You won’t

Was his high stick that bad?

I’m so confused. This is an old statement right? Panarin is not out for the year is he
Pigmansweet
The other positive in this is that it demonstrates to Panarin the team has his back.

Trouba has never come close to doing anything as bad as that pos Tom Wilson did that night. Wilson is garbage

I was proud of the team for issuing this statement and I still am. Fucking joke of a league, pathetic that no other team spoke up.
As for Trouba, he generally demonstrates a keen understanding of the difference between clean hits and illegal hits, and his are almost always letter-of-the-law legal. Yes, the stick swing yesterday was illegal, but it was at least partially a result of Trouba wrestling his own stick out of Frederic’s grasp.
However, I want to see fewer head injuries in the game for the safety of all players. To that end, I would be OK if the league tightened the rules to make some of Trouba’s hits illegal because I’m confident he would adjust.
Concussions and other head injuries are no joke. As a fan base, we know, we’ve had enough players whose careers have been shortened by concussions to realize, and, I hope not, but we may be watching another one now with Chytl.

The irony is when you put a former goon In charge of safety.

Anyone else just panic that we had a game against Washington and Panarin is out for the season

I saw the play that prompted this statement. The play was, no more or no less flagrant than something that Zdeno Chara did to Max Pacioretti. Yet, Chara wasn’t suspended, if I remember correctly. If Chara wasn’t suspended, then why should any other player be suspended
