Give him 8 million for 5 years
Another useless video
Isn’t there a way to negotiate the contract so that he takes a discount the first year while JT is still making big money. He could take an 2-3 mil discount year one and then add that to the sub-sequential years
If the leafs could've signed nylander for 9 mil they would've. But he wants 10.5 + and he's never come down from that. So its not as easy as everyone is making it out to be. Otherwise he'd of signed the deal already.
hmmmmmm I can see Calgary sending Tanev for Marner in some kind of package.
marner to pittsburgh lol
I know everyone thinks Nylander is super deluxe awesome…in a contract year, but he kinda sucks in the playoffs. He's 51st in the league since 2016 in playoff points per game. Yes he's good, but people get all carried away with just how good he really is, particularly since he always performs better in contract years. Nylander is also pretty cruddy defensively. BTW, Marner has outperformed all other Leafs in the playoffs for point production per game and has also been the most sound defensively.
Why does Tavares make 10 mill 😂
Vancouver canucks should trade Nylander for Pettersson lol
Haha. All 3 have no trade in the contract I don’t believe you.
I could see a Marner trade to Anaheim after the season for Troy Terry or Brock McGinn + someone like Jamie Drysdale and picks
Doesn't Marner have a full no move clause? Are they even allowed to move him?
I would trade matthews and marner for mcdavid and drysaitle
hawks fans are hoping w.nlyander hits ufa after this season or m.marner after next season.
Thought the title said old man out lol so I thought taveres is the old man out lol
Marner is better than Nylander. Always has been. 6 weeks doesn’t change that. If he’s on the right team with good leadership he’ll be an excellent player. They’d get a boatload for him. 12$m for Willy is a joke
Tavares to me,, gets 10 million,,not worth no more then ,7million trade him,,
Leafs have 35 million in cap space next year. Give nylander 11 million 8 years. Cap will go up
Trade him now. Get a solid defence man and a rugger forward in exchange and save 3 or 4 million in the process. Marner will vanish in the playoffs when it really counts. He is not worth 10.9 plus a the minimum raise they need just to keep him.
I'd say trade Marnier at the deadline for a younger cheaper top 6 winger and a couple picks in 2nd or 3rd maybe first this year while his stock price is still good, or bring up a few 2 ways trade a couple botttom six and sign nylander
Does not matter who plays, they have no coach
marner has a full no move so forget that idea.
Imagine trading Marner to re-sign 33 yr old John Tavares lmaoooo
Everyone says Marner until the Leafs start losing games with him gone. That guy has put up almost 200 points over the last 2 seasons, kills penalties and plays 20+ minutes a night. Who's going to fill the hole that's left with him gone? I get he hasn't been great so far but law of averages dictates he will pick up his game as he always does. Law of averages also dictates that willy won't keep this pace up either. Tavares should be the most expendable of the core four IMO.
Marner will get traded and win a cup before toronto lol
I'm on board, but the time to trade him was before his no movement clause kicked in. Marner has 0 incentive to accept a trade anywhere.
I’m sure a lot of hockey fans came to the same conclusion .. it’s Mariner .. but I would sign him to a sign and trade deal with the other team on this way u get most bang for the buck ..
Marker is nowhere near as good as his dad thinks he is.
If they still believe in the "Core 4"… they can still make it work by essentially switching up Nylander's up coming contract for Tavares' expiring 11 Million deal… and just endure having both of em on 11 Mill cap deal for only 1 season! I would've shipped Marner out of town in the off season… but if they still believe in the core… it's doable… not easily… but doable!!
It funny how leaf fans think they need to free up money for the signings when everyone is talking about bringing in d men and staying at cap ceiling. Make up your mind
Nylander has a good start to the season and everyone thinks he's the savvier of the team, give me a brake, the last two games he hasn't had a single point so there's that FACT,
19 games into the season, is NO way to judge his skills and the reason, why he has done nothing, for the last two games, is because the other teams are studying the Leafs key players, to shut them down!!! Which is not hard to see!!!
Come back and comment after 40 games and tell me that he is worth 10 MILLION per season, so I can laugh further!!!
Nylander will come back to the pack and show why he is not a 10 mil player, also Marner has a full no trade clause so he is going nowhere unless he wants to. Rosehill was a stiff when he played so his take on anything is a joke.
Trade Marner, Brodie and Robertson for Hanafin, Zadorov and Tanev
JT is more expensive and older, sorry he’s out, even if he has a no move clause, he likely will have to give it up in the offseason.
