Edmonton Oilers CALLED OUT For Ruining Current Players Career

In an interesting turn of events for the dumpster fire that is the Edmonton Oilers, you now have Jason Demers (Who played one game for the Edmonton Oilers) calling the team out for ruining the career of Philip Broberg. As if this could get worse, right?

  1. I agree with Jason Demers & Ryan Whitney and the other former Oilers& non Oilers nhl players players for having the courage to speak up & tell it like it is.
This team is suspect at the Draft table to begin with & even worse on the Developement side of the operation. Constructive criticism is something the Oilers Brain Trust & Hockey Minds cant stand to listen to or learn from. Fragile Egos maybe?

  2. So after Oiler family beats Kraken, they get a new "stepdaddy". Daddy K will be sporting a 2-4 record after Capitals beat them.

  3. I am enjoying your podcast so much more lately, not only for the info on this ever evolving train-wreck, but I am loving this new fired up Tyson!

  4. Some young players come around and some don,t .Broberg has been given multiple chances and has not developed like they thought he would. The Oilers have not ruined his career ,he has to play better period. Trade him and bring in another defenseman is the answer because if you look at Brobergs play ,he has cost the team multiple goals. No time for prospects who are not playing well, we need solid veterans l think. And a goalie big time.

  5. Incomplete and improperly constructed rosters has been what has ailed this franchise for a very long time now. At times it was the result of financial constraints, but more recently it is poor decision making, terrible player evaluations, and cap mismanagement. An incomplete roster forces you to rely on some players too heavily, forces players into roles they are not suited for, and injects players into your line-up who aren't ready or flat out shouldn't be there. If you have one or two pimples on your face it's pretty easy to hide with some make-up…but if your face is covered with pimples there is no hiding it!

  6. Yes plz, Edmonton isn't the center of the hockey world. Conner & Leon are 2 of 23 that play for Edmonton and yes there very good players. STOP. What happened before season stared. Not sue why Jackson was hired and why there is a huge disruption in management when all they needed to do is clean up the defense and goalie. Everyone is tight lipped as it should be of what might be happening as it should be. NOW, we have all this speculation as what the issues are. 9 million for Nurse are you kidding me and 5mil for a goalie with little experience might be an issue as well. Between those two players was about & mil over spent and could have gotten a better. AND finally Oilers leaving Edmonton, stay away from the cool aid. Katz is a smart business man and knows where to follow the money. He wouldn't be where he is listening to all the media. This is business, win or loose the money is still coming in. Look at what he has done on 104th ave, very nice building that has revenue coming in all year round. This is business and business is what it is. Sorry one more issue that I have been an Oiler fan from day one. The players are making a good living, the fans are watching a fantastic team Win or lose . It's great entertainment. LET'S GO OILERS

  7. We must have an issue in Bakersfield with some of these young guys on defence. Broberg, Niemelainen, Bouchard. I agree, trade Broberg and hope to get something good back. Try and trade Niemelainen also. What’s he doing in the minors? Are we developing him? Doesn’t seem like it. Look at how bad Bouchard is in our zone, in the corners, front of our net. He’s terrible and spent three years in the minors, top 10 pick and look at what we’ve got! Just pathetic.

  8. It’s up to the player to earn the right to play not because they area high draft pick.

  9. youre hilarious man
i enjoy your rants post game loss. u say exactly how i feel all the time LOL

  10. Broberg is responsible for himself. He hasn't shown any consistency. He's been Okay at best sometimes.

  11. Let's be honest, Proberg has been given numerous opportunities to succeed but failed to do so. He is too soft.

  12. That's why they handled the Campbell situation just terrable Campbell should be given another chance after being embarrassed by oilers the put him on waivers bring him down what does that do to his mind set they should bring him back and give him another chance he just might surprise everyone and say that's it I'll never go down again Skinner is not the goalie he has proven oilers get leads and Skinner let's softies in and other team right back in game he just looks uncomfortable in net Campbell looks like a experience ed goalie he deserves another chance Skinner isn't cutting it Campbell might come back and be on fire after what they did to him he is well liked in dressing room and he does have experience it even goes back to playoffs against Vegas what woodcroft was thinking will never know but he pulls Skinner after 4 or 5 goals Campbell comes in plays great next game is win or go home I never even thought he would start Skinner when I heard it blew my mind he puts a goalie that was pulled night before back up comes in plays great why he started Skinner in do or die game after his crappy game he was pulled from so woody puts him in with all the pressure instead of going with experience goalie who played good night before he did that a few times and it's like what was he thinking it could have changed the series I new they were finished when I heard Skinner was starting this year looking at goals scored on Skinner and Campbell Skinner looks shaky every game and let's slot of what should be East saves compared to Campbell his saves were harder to stop but he looks like a goalie standing in net Skinner just looks out of place but I think with Skinner playing bad they owe Campbell another chance the way he was treated just think it could have him all fired up to go he did loose first 4 games when he went down but I can imagine his mind set probably depressed they owe Campbell another chance and the way things are going perfect time

  13. The Oilers have made some terrible decisions, and they have employed some woefully incompetent people (you couldn't find someone, on purpose, to do as much damage to a franchise as Chiarelli did to the Oilers unintentionally). But, they've also had some bad luck. Losing Oscar Klefbom was a devastating blow to the Oilers. They were crazy good with him in the line-up. They can develop good players, and I don't think they "ruin" players any more or less than any other team. I think management keeps digging enormous holes for themselves, so they can't surround their star players with enough depth to succeed consistently. I don't think that's the same thing.

  14. Dolynny….. Seems like your not an Edmonton fan anymore…. Just another hater! Why don't you move to TORONTO!

  15. I think it's Connor McDavid's career that is getting ruined. Here is a player that will be remembered as one of the greatest of his generation and he is being doomed to play for terrible teams. How much longer do you think he'll stand for it before he begins thinking about playing elsewhere and getting a better shot at that elusive Cup?

  16. Broberg has never shown anything more then lightweight AHL potential. I have no idea why anyone would draft him, or think he was ever gona make the lineup. This club has brutalized a lot of careers, no one more then Hemsky's, and they are now on the verge of having wasted to generational talents. But they did beat a slow tired old looking team today, so there's that.

  17. Demers was also close to Woodcroft so I’m sure there is some bitterness there. In addition, bro, Burke has done nothing to gain more ice time. This is on him as well.

  18. Broberg is young and defense men take longer to develop genious. Oilers arent ruining his career
