Sean Kuraly boarding on Ryan Lindgren – Tough Call Recommendation
Sean Kuraly doesn’t quite hit the head, but he doesn’t do enough to avoid it. And what he did do was avoidably drive his opponent violently and dangerously into the boards.
you mention agreeing with the call, do you mean the original call of the five minute major or where the call ended up as a two minute minor? it seems like you believe it should have been a major penalty.
I'm curious, this is probably the first time I've seen a boarding call where the player is facing the checker, and it's not from behind or from the side or anything. Does this matter at all in the ruling? Have you seen it called like that before? For that reason alone I was OK with it being called a minor penalty instead of a major. I just find it weird that it's face to face, but maybe I'm over-thinking it

Just look where his eyes are at around 0:38. He's zeroing in on the head/face, aiming his shoulder at that location. 2 out of 5 Troubas.

Dirty hit..
Clean hit 40 years ago, different world in today's NHL. Ref had to call it.
I have no problem finishing the check, but I have a major headache understanding how this isn’t at least a 5 minute major.
Lindgren is the closest thing I’ve seen to Wolverine and somehow he’s still not skating almost a week later.
Kuraly knows he messed up. You can see it in his body language. Hopefully someone doesn’t return the favor.
