What happened to Josh Anderson? Didn’t realize he only had 2 points in 19 games. At 6.5 million a year, sheesh!

Didn’t realize? Not watched or read ANY thread on here….pretty sure 0g, 2 a, 6.5 mil are brought up every 2 mins!

  3. You must have been busy on other subreddits. Lol

  4. Habslover

And we could’ve gotten a first+ for him last year

  5. Habsfan_2000

You’re the first person to notice, congratulations

Bro couldnt put a puck in a soccer cage even if his life depends on it. Its not a lack of efforts tho but a lacks of hands unfortunatly. Dude got chances I cant keep the score but he cant capitalize. Hope he got a 5-6 straights games with a goal.

  7. Ancient_Persimmon

At some point his goal totals should regress to the mean: his career shooting % is 11, so he should have 4-5 goals right now. He’s still getting those chances and is more or less at his average shots per game.

Him and Cole seem to have some sort of hex on them currently.

He’s also at $5.5m, to be clear.

Honestly, Anderson was never that good. People were always wooed by his potential, seeing a big guy who could skate well, but that never actually materialized on the ice. He was never a high scoring player at any level, and his tool kit was always pretty small (skate fast, shoot). He was a 3rd liner at the best of times, and now that he is exiting his prime years, he’s lost what little value he had.

It’s kind of crazy to think that on his way out the door Bergevin doled out over 15 million in cap to three forwards who combined probably don’t hit a point per game (Anderson, Gallagher, Armia). Thanks Marc.

I’m not surprised at 2 assist, I mean that was always his way a playing. He scored some goals, hit a lot, skate a lot and nothing else. I will say that his expected goal is 5.6, which put him between Caufield and Suzuki.

He is extremely unlucky with goals so far this season, he could be on pace for 24 goals and 43pts, which would be pretty much spot on for his normal production. My guess is that he will turn it around some point and will finish will something like 20 goals and 35pts, something like that. If he stay healthy all season.

Buddy saw Armia regress last year and said “hold my fucking beer”

  11. Remember his last season in Columbus when he had 4 points in 26 games? Yeah, Pepperige Farms remembers.

  12. jomagnum

It’s about fucking time we play the Leafs!

Carry Price had the best line when asked about his slump. “I was one loss away from wearing a garter belt” to refer to the awesome movie Bull Durham. Anderson might want to :
    a) watch that movie
    2) get a garter belt and wear it and
    d) also perform some rituals to get rid of the bad juju

  14. dillybomb420

Even if he has completely fallen off, he helped bury the Leafs and scored an OT Winner in the Cup Final. Forever in the good books in my opinion.

  15. philjitsu

Not enough leaf games to start the year to get him going. Clearly the Leafs are like lighting a pilot light lol

  16. Fergizzo

He skates fast up the boards and proceeds to turn the puck over. Pretty much all he does.

  17. It’s a surprise if you just ignore that 26 games span where he had 1 goal

  18. G_skins31

Happens to literally every power forward around the same age. It was very predictable

  19. Rockterrace

I miss when you used to hammer at least one guy per shift. I’ll always remember the game he absolutely bullied Jake Muzzin everytime he touched the puck

  20. MrWeStEr399

How is he 6.5. Literally had not had an impressive year his entire careers.

  21. kingkellam

Just one of the many horrible moves bergevin made to try and salvage the end of Price’s career

  22. petrole_gentilhomme

Yeah his 40 pts year he was really worth 5.5. Right guys?

  23. bcgrappler

He is the king of patterns.

    1, 17 ,19 27, 1, 17, 19, 21,

Every 20 goal season is followed by a 1 goal season.

Next year is 17 goals guaranteed.

  24. Its like he practiced all his leg work over the break and didn’t practice accuracy. Everytime I would turn to watch the game, Anderson would have an opportunity. He’s getting to the net, just not putting it in.

  25. You know what would be great? Tying the salary to results. You get a minimum chunk and you get substantially more depending on your output.

  26. DrLivingst0ne

He was overvalued by Bergevin. He would be a good asset on a bottom 6 contract. Would be great on the 4th line of a contender.
