McDavid is so done with this

Connor McDavid has been the focus of the Edmonton Oilers after a season which has started off awfully. One question sent not only him over, but lit a firestorm across all of hockey. That and more for today’s video.

  1. Tim Peele spent an entite career being bought and paid for. His opinion is less than worthless.

    Also, Spectre is a trashcan.

    Both can be true

  2. Imagine the position this team has put Pickard into?!! He hasn't started a game in 3 years! He's been warming the bench for 4 games and the season has already gone to shit on the backs of the entire defence core along with the other two goalies, and every single oilers fan drawing breath is wanting you to be the Binnington of 2023/24! You make some amazing saves but your overpaid Dman does his imbecilic bellyflop move and puts the puck past you. There are some ridiculous fluke plays, your team collapses in front of you and you lose that holy grail start by a goal because your team gives up and now you have no confidence and all of oil country still thinks the hunt for a goalie is on…after ONE GAME.
Edmonton is the great ruinator of hockey talent!
BTW, I just learned today that Holland drafted Broberg when Trevor Zegras, Matt Boudy, and Cole Caulfield were still available?!?!?!?!?! Fire him now!

  3. Canadian sports "journalists" are such low life leaches that profit off of the success and failure of others while adding nothing of value themselves while wanting all the attention. I don't watch much hockey anymore because it's insane how self important they've made themselves in the broadcast, taking up as much time as the actual game and thinking people are watching because of them.

  4. Spector is a fraud. He has perpetuated the oilers dysfunction by constantly taking the players side against coaches or janagement whontry to instill player accountability to the team. Spector was front and center demanding the Oilers fire the coach instead talking about the real problems in Edmonton. Right on Tim Peel. Spector demonstrates that Sportsnet is not about journalism. Its about creating public interest in revenue generating sports media on behalf of Rodgers owned sports franchises and media platforms. If you want to read journalism, you wont find in on Rodgers Sportsnet.

  5. The problem is the Edmonton Media have all been at it for decades, and feel entitled to not only ask pointless questions but get the answer they want to fit their narrative. Instead of being sports journalism its political in the sense that this is the story and version they want. And often go after players to try and get them to throw their team mates under the zamboni, time for a lot of them to call it a career.

  6. McMuffin has made the playoffs twice ( COVID year's don't count ) and how many GMs and coaches have they gone through maybe he's the problem and also cry baby Dragsaddle

  7. Reminder that Frank Seravalli is the head of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

  8. The public answer = "I'll take wins any way we can get them."
The truthful answer = "Winning with defense vs. winning with offense? Our franchise business operations wants whichever will sell the most tickets at the highest price."

  9. They should fire this new coach too. Since the Oiler's seemingly want to squander their franchise.

  10. Such a dumb question by spec, Spec asks notoriously some of the dumbest questions in the game. It’s night after night. We are going run our team out of town.

  11. the oilers have had it to easy. To many high draft picks to many wanna be goalies and to many ex oilers trying to coach the team. The whole thing is a dumpster fire. I wouldnt say trade mcdavid but you have to get supporting cast for him. Maybe you need to trade draistl for some support staff.

  12. I don't think anyone should expect privacy when they message someone, generally. Obviously context matters and there would be situations where you'd expect privacy. I don't think this is one. I am surprised at Spector's expectation that he'd not be criticized.

  13. That question reminds me of Adrian Dater asking MacKinnon a question about overthinking things after the Avs were eliminated in 2021.
Stupid stupid questions. How are media outlets requiring full resumes and still hiring guys who ask the worst questions? Seriously, a 14 year old hockey fan could come up with better questions.

Also, Edmonton really need to seriously considering trading 97 and/or 29 at or before the deadline. They need a rebuild, and no doubt they would get a kings ransom for either one.

  14. If I’m Edmonton, I would really look into trading mcdavid. The returns they would get from that one trade would be insane!

  15. Eck vs. Johnny Hawkey feud incoming. Jokes aside, asking the kind of question is dumb but what else is there to ask? Posting a private conversation online is just childish, especially from a former ref that got caught on a hot mic because he didn't make sure to shut his mic off during a game.

  16. Idiotic question? Dumb question? You want us to put up signs that say to respect people, cause that hurts your feelings? Keep on asking what you want with no worries what some woke people have to say!

  17. I like how media members call out a lack of character for tweeting out a "private" conversation, which was only private because he didn't want to come across as an ass in a public forum. Old people really don't understand social media.

  18. As a referee who wears a GoPro, I post my calls both good and bad and it opens up to discussion in the comments. It’s not always in my favour either. I think refs should be able to back up their calls. I would be interested in a panel of former refs grading the job refs do in a game. Could make for an interesting discussion.

  19. I can feel this for sure. McDavid looks frustrated as well as the others and the fans. Same stuff that my Devils are going through too. No problem at all hitting strides on offense, but getting scored on after an admirable game by our goalies and defense collapsing

  20. Tim Peel saying literally anyone else is bad at their job is such hypocrisy. Just fade away buddy so we can all stop hearing your name.

  21. Refs are not allowed to engage with media, or even have social media accounts. It’s in their contracts and it comes from the people in charge, not the refs themselves. “Silence can never be misinterpreted” was always the motto in professional officiating.

  22. McDavid hasn't even been playing good half the time this year either. Him and Drai look like they don't even care, horrible leaders and attitudes from both.

  23. Mcdavid looks absolutely miserable. I'd be shocked if he re-signs in Edmonton after that contract is up.

  24. Idk about the hockey community, but leaked dm’s are always -rep in my book (except for allegations of course)

  25. This season for Oilers is a complete joke. This season is a complete wash… I had a suspicion that this season will be a bust. Stopped watching them after 2nd or 3rd game.

Signing Campbell was a good idea at that time but that signing fizzled out after Campbell choked during his tenure except when he played well for one or two games.

Nothing changed for Defense. It is pretty much status quo as they leave their man alone in front of the net. Its like whenever Oilers signs extension or sign new contracts that the players play like crap or just showing up for the pay cheque. McDavid and Draisaitl broke their backs carrying most the dead weight players.

Trade both McDavid and Draisaitl so they can win a cup somewhere else. I feel bad for season holders watching this absolute dumpster fire.

  26. Reporter will be held accountable after the first woman will go to hard time in prison for false reporting a guy for rape…meaning not going to happen soon.

  27. Private messages are private for a reason, you’re an embarrassment if you think that’s okay.

  28. I always wonder what do people expect players and especially losing ones are going to be asked ? Also refs don't get to criticize anyone with how little responsibility they carry about their actions as if they cannotnbe wrong or even asked about it.
