  1. I think its a great idea if the contract doesn’t last any further than the end of this season. We’ve got the cap space, especially if we make room for Kane by unloading Perron.

  2. Winter_Maximum_8560

He’s not going to want to join the 11th best team in the east. Sorry not sorry

  3. markcubin

Kind of indifferent, can’t lie it would be fun to see Kane in a Wings jersey but I’m skeptical that he’d actually add a lot, I don’t think there’d be much to lose on a cheaper short term deal.

  4. Monkey-D-Luffy787

Kane in! Petry or Reimer out! I think he has the skill to replace either in their roles

  5. I’m fine with it, he’d be a decent bridge to next season anyway.

  6. TheNorthernPellikkan

Fuck Patrick Kane, am I really the only one who would be grossed out by this? It’s not like we have any chance of making a real playoff run, why taint the organization by associating with that piece of trash

  7. alexmullen4180

I’m not gonna get my hopes up until a better source than Seravalli says something about it.

  8. Ya thanks Frank, no shit the wings like the idea of pairing up Cat and Kane!

I don’t think we have a chance though, he’s going to want to go to the cup contender.. this just isn’t our year.

  9. Vast_Sandwich_5245

If a contract for a year sure, anything more no. Dude may not even be able to play, tough surgery to come back from I.e. Backstrom.

  10. _DoghouseReilly

Is this real? I can’t find this anywhere

  11. MemeLordOverKill

I’ll believe it when it doesn’t come from servalii. Dude seems to blow his load too fast when it comes to breaking news

  12. atheistinabiblebelt

Fuck this, I’ve been against this since the rumors first came out and my feelings only became stronger after watching backstrom.

I do not want anything to do with Kane, if yzerman is seriously considering offering him even a 1 year then all I’ve got to say is what the fuck

  13. DixieNorris

How about a defenceman and a legit 2nd line center

  14. Nope. You don’t come back from that injury/surgery. It’s a waste of money and he’s a shitty human being.

I guess if it’s only for a year. He’s 35 and just had hip resurfacing surgery? He’s not going to be the same player. We don’t need another slow veteran.

  16. ReptarTheBrave

Comeback season? Even at 35 I’d bet this guy still has the skill to reach a point per game if he’s healthy and actually tries. With the few years he has left I’m not sure why he wouldn’t try to go sign with a potential cup winner though.

  17. WaylonLemmyJohnny

    I hope I’m wrong about this but…

I feel like its a disaster waiting to happen. More of a Stephen Weiss deal than a Brendan Shanahan deal. I dont think it would work out like we might hope. Guys, were talking about a 35 year old forward thats coming off of hip surgery. he isnt the piece to take us to the promised land. He’s not the last piece to the puzzle.

I dont feel like its the right move for either party. The timing is wrong.

  18. BellsBeerBestBeer

    I’m torn.

Kane is one of Larkin’s childhood idols (check the snip show video) and this would very likely mean they are linemates.

This would piss off Blackhawks fans

    But

I’m not sure I’d want a scandal era Blackhawk on the Wings.

  19. thegonzojoe

Worth it just to be able to say Red Wings Legend Patrick Kane to Chicago fans for the rest of all time.

  20. Enough-Ad-3111

    That’d be an interesting deal.

Wonder how Blackhawks fans would feel if he’s on the team when we face them in Chicago later this season?

  21. drinkwineandscrew

Would love a player like Patrick Kane on the wings. I just wish that player wasn’t y’know, Patrick Kane.

  22. Kulminho

I would be annoyed if that was going to happen. At this stage I’d rather see some young players injected into the lineup. What good would it do to put Kane in the long term?

  23. At the beginning of the season when we were 5-1 and averaging 5 goals a game I would have said no, but why the hell not

  24. Not_Sure_68

I think it sucks and hope it doesn’t happen.

Rather see a kid get that spot. It’s already an allegedly rebuilding team with zero rookies and zero sophomores.

  25. XRT_Solo_Wing_Pixy

Love it if it’d be a PTO first.

  26. LGRW97980208

Why would he want to come to a team like ours? We look like an AHL team right now.

  27. WarOtter

Ugh, he’s like an old sweater that you need like one a year for a family party, but you hate wearing it because it’s too hot, scratchy, and it condones sexual assault.

I think we should look anywhere else for a better sweater.
