  1. Yet another win in back to backs. I love this team!!

  2. Wekilledit88

There’s absolutely nothing to hate about this team right now. As Torts says every week, there will be absolutely shit games and mental mistakes, but the system, culture, and chemistry this team has with a ton of young pieces already in place, the rebuild is accelerated.

Doomers won’t like that I said that, but like, the proof that we’re talented enough to keep up with top teams or outplay them and be a winning team is literally on display. Add in Cutter and Michkov and in 2-3 years we’re gonna be so good. Not to mention that FAs will sign here when they see what kind of team we’re becoming.

I’ll keep being a broken record, but this type of winning and system building is just as important as draft picks. The team will keep getting better and I will dodge all the doomer takes. Idgaf. But don’t get it twisted, if we fizzle out and are missing the playoffs then absolutely be sellers and acquire picks or prospects. But as of now this is so fun to watch.

  3. RebuildFletcher

Thanks for that first and second round pick CBJ much appreciated 😀

  4. nickwrocks1

Overall happy with this game, but we got a considerable amount of lucky breaks. A game with a fiercer more opportunistic team as an opponent might’ve had a different outcome. ESPECIALLY with those avoidable penalties.

But let’s fucking go, 5 in a row!!!!!

  5. MathierCutkov

sike i watched the whole thing. couple game notes:

theres a 100% chance poehling’s mustache owns a pontiac firebird

  6. Arseling69

I jokingly said in the SJS thread that that loss would be the catalyst for our yearly 10 game streak. I’m feeling 10 in a row lads. 😎

  7. JohnKrukIsAllElite

Shout out to Ersson playing clutch af again! CBJ tried to press most that third period and he just kept wagging his finger at ‘em.

  8. Streetkillz13

Poehling had an absolutely phenomenal game, right call by Torts not to sit him for Frost. That’s 3 strong games in a row. He absolutely should not be coming out of the lineup for the next few games.

When Frost draws back in it should be for one of Cates or Foerster.

  9. Ersson played well, and I’ve got no complaints the last few games. We’ve won 5 in a row, youngsters like Frost, York, Hart, Errson, TK, Brink, Forester, Farabee, and Tippett are all playing well. Veterans in Walker, Couturier, Atkinson, Sanheim, and Seeler are all playing well.

This is very impressive and credit goes to Torts.

  10. hector_zepelli

Every game I’ve watched this season, they’ve won. Starting to get superstitious about it lol

  11. 4ItchyTasy

The best hockey I’ve seen them play in years.

  12. MikeMacBlu

Losing to the Sharks is the secret to success?

  13. 4ItchyTasy

Watching this team so far this season feels VERY different than the past almost decade. I feel like we’re getting back to playing smarter hockey again.

  14. feltonvillain

If the team is winning, then we’ve rebuilt enough. I would hate to see us trade TK, Walker, and other valuable pieces of this team to “win in the future” if we are playing winning and exciting hockey in the present.

  15. MathierCutkov

Joel Farabee is better with Bobby Brink in the lineup, Im worried now they start rolling Poehling as the center there and it only works if Poehling has a break out season like no ones ever seen. I dont want them to put all the eggs in the Poehling basket and make Frost expendable as a result, because Tippett is better with Frost in the lineup so they have to figure something out there so they can stop fuckin around with the lineup every other night

  16. feltonvillain

Flyers have the most goals forward in the Metro division. Suck it NJ!

  17. Steppyjim

Poehling gets a goal and 2 apples and doesn’t get any of the stars of the game

  18. Nate_923

    Nice win!

Last year I thought the magic Philly Sports had was just a one off.

Phillies, Eagles, Union, and 76ers all making the playoffs. Phillies, Eagles, and Union making it to their respective Championship games. 76ers almost making it to the third round of the playoffs.

Despite all those outcomes, I truly thought this city caught lightning in a bottle for just one year.

Then fast forward one year later and those vibes are back, at least for me.

Seeing the 76ers playing way better than last year and presently being top 3 in their conference let alone the entire league with their records.

Flyers are doing better than people thought and are now number 2 in their division after a 5 game win streak with 4 of those being against play off caliber teams and 1 from the defending champs.

Eagles back up top in the NFL for the 2nd year straight so far.

Phillies almost making it back and, while the loss sucks, the fact they almost got back after last year was still worth mentioning.

Not going to sit here and say “Championships for this City are upon us!” but it’s good to know those moments we had last year and the journies to get there aren’t just one and dones. The teams want to get back there and are showing it. Who gets there first remains to be seen.

This city’s teams fight for those spots and I’m very happy with that.

Either way, I have faith one of those teams will break through and win it all. Just a matter of when.

  19. This has been a fun start to the season, I’m hoping we can keep it up.

This offseason we have two 1sts (Phi, and FLA), and a 2nd (Blue Jackets). We just have to enjoy the ride.

  20. Evrytimeweslay

I didn’t expect to be so jubilant beating up on provorov’s new team, I guess him being a bigot pissed me off a lot more than I realized

  21. As a young fan who grew up watching the 2010 teams mostly after 2013 and who doesn’t remember the last cup run, I’m starting to enjoy this team, idk why but for some reason it’s bringing me a feeling, I haven’t felt, well ever.

  22. Pallandrotheblue

I’m gonna throw my 2 cents in here. I think the results we are seeing is in large part due to subtraction. There is a different feel to this team.

This is just my observations and the vibes I got, but gone are Hayes (entitled), JVR (indifferent), DeAngelo (problematic), Provorov (arrogant). 4 guys that the kids would look up to and pattern their game after.

Am I right? No idea. But think about 4 stars in the locker room that could potentially (even unintentionally) cause complacency. It would have a large impact on production.

Tortorella has stated the the room needed addressing. He and Briere made adjustments.

So the question is, is this a rebuild, or a successful teardown with immediate positive results?

    Food for thought.

  23. CyrusTG2

2-0 when attending with the Brink jersey. My boy Bobby scoring on the pp made my week!
