Game of the Year?! Soldout Rivalry Game was HEATED! Bloom vs undefeated Thornton! Full highlights

Bloom had the most exciting team in Illinois this season. Led by 5 Division-1 level seniors Dante Maddox (CSU Fullerton), Christian Shumate (unsigned), Martice Mitchell (Minnesota), Keshawn Williams (Tulsa) and Donovan Newby (UW Milwaukee), the Trojans finished 28-6 for the season. The first team to beat Bloom this season was Thornton (100 year old conference rivals). This game was the rematch (at Bloom’s gym). One of the biggest/best games in Illinois this season, this would be Thornton’s ONLY loss of the season.
Bloom beat undefeated #2 Thornton 74-57 in front of a soldout crowd in suburban Chicago Heights.
Bloom’s Keshawn Williams scored 23 points, 11 in the fourth quarter.
Thornton led 29-28 at halftime. Bloom took control with a 14-5 run to close the third quarter.
Bloom’s Dante Maddox Jr. scored 20 points and senior Christian Shumate added 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Ari Brown led Thornton Wildcats with 23 points and seven rebounds. Donald Coates and Sean Burress each added eight points.
Thornton finished 32-1 before the season was canceled. Coach Tai Streets went on to be named Coach of the Year. No Division 1 basketball players (yet) from this Thornton squad.
