Campbell isn’t an NHL goaltender. I’m sorry to everyone that still feels this way. As bad as Nurse contract is, I feel Campbells will go down as Hollands worst signing.
He needs to go on LTIR or assistance program like you fellas suggested. Or be caught out. It’s going to be one of those three.
Jack Campbell was never a good goalie. He was a first overall pick in 2014 and never became a starter. That’s a huge red flag. He lucked out and had 1 good season in Toronto. That’s it. I knew this was going to happen
The armchair GM's that a lot of us engage in is very interesting yet this spitballing trade proposals that happen on the fly can be pretty entertaining & wild at times. Mea culpa here ive done it myself. Yet I find the idea of including Oliver Rodrigue in that deal very short sighted & self defeating. When you consider where & what is the Oilers depth in net at then? Campbell & Pickard maybe instead of Rodrigue. The Oilers definitely need another goalie imo. On a bargain trade Jake Allen & a low round trade for someone like Eric Comrie either as trade piece or depth. Imo
The best way to solve the Campbell situation is buy him out next year. Then use some of the draft picks with a role player to get a couple cheap 2nd or 3rd liners. To offset the cash. But I know Holland isn't creative enough to pull these trades off. Also Blackwood would be a good fit here. Stablizing the goalies would help everyone.
Ya, jeez, how brutal and hard it must be to be a multimillionaire getting 5x a week what most people make in a year, having to Tuff it out in the minors. Why don't ya all dig deep into your thin wallets and give it all to those poor players. I think a lot of people don't yet get what "hard times" are.
I have been thinking the same thing. JC desperately needs to get help in the mind set department. If HE decides to get help with that the other part may follow.
