Why can't they just get rid of Merril already? He is scratched and I would argue Addison is better than Merril.
You could also add Addison just wasnt liked by Billy and Deano, that has always been crystal clear.
Guerin added some size today too, which is needed.
I'm fine with the moves. Just my opinion, but really nobody on that 3rd pairing has looked "good" this season. Goli, Mermis, Hunt, Merrill, Addison, etc etc……….. all MEH!

Was never a fan of Addison and fine with the trade. Getting away from Dean's coaching style could help Addison a lot, but I doubt he breaks out with the Sharks similar to Burns. Unless if they make more moves I don't think Raska will be with the team this year, but next year if they don't bring back Maroon or Duhaime.
you could tell Dean/Billy never liked Fiala so he was always getting traded – now they never liked Calen and he gets traded – they are hard ppl to change their minds on after first impressions

After thinking about it , I can see why
Addison didn't see eye to eye with evason, and he was on a one year contract , so mermis stays, that's a good thing, I wish he would've thrown
Merrill in on the deal
If people want to admit it or not, Addison was a defensive liability. He turned the puck over in crucial situations. Yes talent but not a player I think will be missed. Fabre is already better both defensive and offensive. They need more size on D.
So after doing some checking
Zack is a stay at home dman, who's good at clearing the front, and for a seventh round pick that's a good deal,
Addison is now the second leading scorer in San Jose all In all a good deal
My main comment was under travzimmerman's comment by mistake.
One other thought, I vote Letty boy back to Iowa, Dewar to wing and Freddy at C on line 4. I think that could be very strong coupled with Duhaime. Cant break up the Dewys.
Ok so Billy got basically a 3rd or 4th rounder for Addy (if you include the prospect)..that's a great return IMO. The kid just didnt fit, and it happens. Better that we got at least something for him, that's a win in my book. Time to move forward, bye felisha!
I also like the message it sends. Greenway sucked…poof, gone. Addison sucked…poof, gone. Negative reinforcement can work wonders for the squad.
billy must have money invested in nursing homes. at the rate he's going i expect i expect to see walkers and wheelchairs on the ice. they trade addison for essentially an oven mit…a large gritty (we know the wild love their grit) immovable oven mit. i see faber's ice time increasing from 30 min to 6 days per game. lets wear out the young lad before he turns 25.
