  1. The Oilers will be looking for cap space as the main reason to move Barrie so picks and prospects will be what they are looking for.

  2. Wow!…The Oilers were the last Canadian team to be eliminated but already have the most "trade rumours"…haha…So far I have heard Mike Smith for Petr Mzazek?…Kailer Yamamoto to Seattle for Driedger…Kailer Yamamoto AND Pulijaarvi to Seattle for Grubauer…I have even heard Stuart Skinner's name thrown around. Poor Stu has played 12 NHL games and he is already gone….haha…I am sure their will be a million more. One thing for sure, I doubt Mikko Koskinen will be back. That dude has taken enough abuse……By the way, I heard Demko is demanding a trade to Edmonton? Any truth to that?…haha.
Maybe Carey Price for Keith and Smith?….Gallagher is an Edmonton boy, born and raised. That sounds like a natural deal right there. We could have former Oilers coast to coast next year….lol…haha.

  3. As a habs fan I’m not trading for Barrie unless we get assets as well, definitely not giving a prospect. Montreal isn’t looking to be a playoff team next year so they don’t need to add a 30 year old d, there right side will likely be filled with Savard wideman and Barron next year, and Barrie looked atrocious on the power play in the playoffs. In no way does acquiring Barrie benefit the Habs unless they are acquiring assets as well or sending a bad contract back.

  4. That’s a horrible trade idea Tyson and the oilers are close to becoming cup contenders so if anything it will be the oilers buying a defensemen. As for the habs I don’t think they will make big moves unless it’s a young kid if anything the habs will probably wanna tank again for a defensemen or even a goalie

  5. If the Oil loses Kane…. than sure…. take Anderson from Montreal and give em Barrie…. but I'd hope they keep Kane… HOPE~!!!!

  6. To me it seems to be a bit of a stretch given what kind of player barrie is. Also that Holland I think isn't the type of GM to sign a player to term and turn around and trade them the next season. That being said I dint think barrie has much of a place on the oilers defense with the emergence of Evan Bouchard since he can do what barrie does but better. It seems to be a repeat of the situation he was in with Colorado and Cale Makar's emergence as a player that can do what barrie does only better. Parallels are easy to draw there with young talented players pushing him out of the roster. Overall I think barrie being traded would be better for the oilers due to their cap situation needing to sign their young RFA's and potentially resigning evander kane. The oilers are going to make some moves this off-season and I can see the oilers looking towards their younger players to fill in roster spots next season to help deal with their cap usage next season.

  7. Montreal has Justin Barron in the wings. He will be better than Tyson Barrie! Don't bother.

  8. Why the Hell would MTL who is in a rebuild would want Barrie. He's just not on the mold of players we want in MTL. We have lots of young dmen that need playing time and even with Petry traded, we have 4 vets already.

  9. This feels like such a David Poile trade

He is the exact type of dude who would look at what Carrier is currently and what Barrie is and choose Barrie in a New York second. Probably would include a swap of some bottom six forwards to make some room for Tomasino-Glass-Tolvanen in the lineup. Probably Trenin or Kunin would be my guess from Nashville. No clue about who Edmonton would send Nashville would want. All arrows point at Kassian but really I don’t know if he upgrades us very much.

  10. I’d rather give more ice time to young guys like Harris and Barron (development) in the Nhl than make them play with the Rocket and trade for Barrie.
Not that he wouldn’t be a good fit it’s just that i’d prefer having our young studs getting experience.
Keep up the great job Gio! Hope to see you Stream a couple Cup finals games✌️😎

  11. Brad Lambert was coached by the system we have moved from to MSL and we should now draft him as he drops from 3rd over because the drop in production. So use the people that could bring us Lambert with our rebuild like Detroit's draft pick. Offer P ETRY, Hoffmsn, or Armia, and our 23rd pick we get a solid draft pick.

  12. Wow !! Can't believe the number of trades that aren't happening !! Keep up the great reporting
