McGuire is often right. He deplored the McDonough – Gomez trade.
On the other hand he also said he would prefer building a team around Dion Phaneuf than Sidney Crosby, because defense wins championships.
Some predictions age better than others.

Been a long time since I’ve since such league wide poor goaltending. Drafting goalies is a crap shoot at the best of times. I liked the Habs picking 3 last draft.
Of them all, though, this is the kid I’d like to see make it.
The Canadiens have Allen, they have Montembeault, they have Primeau, they have a young Jakub Dobeš. This is not a fit.
A few years before that it was Fucale, a few years later it was Primeau
