The craziest and fun goalie we ever had, especially if you were born in the late 80s early 90s and all you really knew were bad goalies. Roman was not.

RiP Roman. One of the most underrated goalies of the past 25 years. Finished 2nd in GAA twice with the flyers. Was a very great goalie with a style similar to Hasek. I even forgot he was Hasek’s backup on the 1998 Czech Gold Medal Team. Sad news for a 40 plus y.o. flyers fan

I was a big fan of Cechmanek. I remember the Buffalo, I think, playoff series when Cechmanek played his ass off but was still getting peppered and he finally snapped and had an outburst on the ice. I loved him for that because I was feeling the exact same way at the time. It didn’t go over well with his teammates and they shelled him in practice, and I get that – he kind of called them out publicly – but I loved him for it.

This guy was by far the most fun goalie every to watch. Nobody could make a routine save look more spectacular.

that’s a damn shame. 52 is too young. he was a hell of a goalie for us especially in the 02/03 season.
