Refs are ruining this great sport all over the world. Not just the NHL. Great check, what we all like to see but not tripping. Possibly interference as Letang changed his direction to make the check after the puck had gone.
Lol @ the number of people saying that's not a penalty.
He chipped the puck past him, was about to go around him, and got taken down. That's a penalty every single time, you can hold a guy up a bit when he chips it past you but if you take him out they're going to call that every time.
Dont think the NHL refs know what a clean hip check and clipping is…. Clipping is an actual rule when and it can be called if u go below the knees(so aka tripping) a hip check is anywheres above the knees….

Timing was good, he bent over properly, nothing but hip. European hockey doesn't allow hip checks.

the f*ck is with refs. It's a physical sport, if that would be remotely close to ANYTHING it would be interference and that was not interference.
